I couldn't believe it, we were free. It kept rolling through my mind. I looked up at the sky. I started to think about Halsey and Mom. I wish they could've came with us, but Arden said it'd be best not to think about them until we get away from this place. We finally walked up to the marathon gas station, and I seen some guy. Based off of what Arden told us about Parker on the way up here it looked like him. He had shaggy blonde hair with blue eyes and was about 6 feet tall, and for some reason he had a sucker in his mouth.
"So everyone this is Parker, and we're kinda dating." Arden said. We all started to introduce ourselves.
"Well umm guys we need to start hitting the road, because those dogs will be finding us soon." said Coltan nervously.
"What do you mean?" asked Parker.
"I'll explain in the truck." Arden said looking at him worriedly. Me and Coltan hopped into the back of his 1978 Ford Bronco, while Kat and Arden sat up front with Parker. As we were riding I couldn't help but think about what me and Arden were talking about on the way up here. What if Halsey did this to us... what if she did betray us... I started to hear a conversation between Arden and Parker.
"Almost here." Parker said.
"Wait where are you taking us?" Arden asked.
"My house of course!" he replied excitedly.
"No we can't go to your mom's house!" she said instantly.
"Why not?" he questioned.
"They might track us to her house if they make my mom say something about I wrote in the letter!" she said quietly.
"Oh okay well what about my dad's house?" he asked curiously.
"Are you dumb..." she playfully says. "They can track us there too!" Arden said in a serious tone.
"No they won't he lives in California, remember? I told you that when we first started talking." he said.
"Oh yeah! Well, I guess we can try it..." she said doubtfully.
