(Ian's POV)
It's been weeks since Sage has been gone. I thought we wouldn't live a day without her but we, well... Survived at least.
Today was Halloween and the house looked like a tornado had passed over it. Today was going to be a busy day. I had Comic-con so I have to fly to Atlanta and we were behind on packing.
It was a chaotic morning as I searched the kitchen desperately as Sapphire was wailing on her high chair and it didn't help that I was on the phone.
"Riley! Where's Sapphie's spoon?" I shouted as I searched.
"Check the dishwasher!" Riley shouted back from the living room.
I found the spoon and went to feed Sapphire her cereal, "What? Julie, I thought filming started next week... Well, I'll try to, but Riley's bus driver retired and I'll have to drive her to school for a couple of days." I say through the phone at the producer.
"IAN!" Riley yelled, but I ignored her.
"Doesn't Paul and Nina have a couple of scenes? Couldn't you shoot those first?... Well, we could do the photo shoot first... Don't you think I know the new season starts next month--"
"Ian!" Riley shouted again, but this time she had entered the kitchen.
"Give me a second, Julie-- Riley, what is it? I'm on the phone." I say in annoyance, turning around to look at her.
"You have to see this." Riley says, her eyes were rimmed red from tears.
I got up in concern and ended the phone call, "Hey what's wrong?"
"The news..." Riley says and it clicked on my mind what she meant.
Fear washed through me as I picked up Sapphire and followed Riley to the living room. She took the TV remote and turned up the tv's volume.
"Today's first news is a shocking one. Last night there was a shooting at one of Las Vegas's most prestigious casinos. The shooters were, apparently, secret government officials that were after a suspect that was there at the time. Here's the strange part, all security footage of that night disappeared! Investigators say the suspect who is a major criminal was the one who incredibly managed to delete it. But criminals always leave a trace. Security cameras outside the casino caught a glimpse of him leaving the area while carrying who we now know is Sage Somerhalder Prior. The woman who was kidnapped weeks ago."
They showed a video footage of a man weaving his way through a crowd of panicked people and police cars. He carried a girl in his arms and sets her down momentarily, but she almost falls to the ground and he picked her up again.
Riley paused the TV and she started to bite her fingernails, "She's hurt."
"How do you know that?" I say, looking more closely at the screen.
"Since when does Sage lets herself be carried? And her facial expression of pain gave it away too." Riley says and I immediately took out my phone and called.
"Hello?"
""Marcus, are you seeing what I'm seeing?"
"I know, I know. Me and a couple of investigators are on our way to Vegas right now."
"Then you better hurry because it looks like Sage got shot."
"I can't promise you anything, Ian, they might be long gone."
"I don't care! Make it happen. That man on the TV footage wasn't Aiden. So if she isn't with Aiden anymore it must be easier to find her. Who is that man anyways?"
