A week before...

(Sage's POV)

Casper stirred beside me and I looked over the couch, seeing Sienna coming down the stairs in a business suit with a diaper bag in one hand and a sleeping baby in the other.

"Shh." She says, motioning with her chin at Casper.

I nodded just as Casper opened his eyes. He yawned, "Is that Sienna?" He says hearing her heels.

"Uh..." I say and did the first thing that came to my mind to prevent him from sitting up.

I took his face and my hands, kissing him passionately. I climbed on him, pressing his hips with my knees while he held my waist. I pulled back when I heard the engine of Sienna's car.

"Did you do that to avoid seeing Sienna and I bickering?" Casper says out of breath.

"Yes...?"

I didn't mean for that to come out as a question.

"It worked." Casper touched his lips and we laughed.

"Well, I have to use the ladies room. Be right back." I say.

"Me, too." Casper says.

I skipped upstairs and was surprised to find my clothes in the bathroom. They were dry now so Sienna must've left them here for me. I took a shower and changed. I shrieked when I saw Casper waiting outside next to the door.

"I know my hair looks horrible, but is it that bad?" He frowns and I have him a look.

"Let me guess. This is the only bathroom?" I say boringly.

"Yep... For being a lawyer, Sienna has a tiny house." Casper mutters.

"Cut her some slack, she lives alone. Why would she want a big house?" I say.

"To rub her success in my face... Anyways wait for me in the kitchen." Casper says and entered the bathroom.

I went down to the kitchen and groaned. I saw bottles on the counter and a high chair next to the dining table.

"Sienna, you could've hid these!" I hissed as I grabbed the high chair and hid it in the pantry and shoved the bottles into the cabinets.

I cringed before opening the fridge, knowing that I would find it stuffed with baby food. I grabbed them and stacked them all inside a lunch bag that I found.

"The things I do for people..." I muttered angrily when I accidentally spilled a juice box on the floor. I picked it up, threw it away, and started to clean the tile with a napkin.

"Did you stain Sienna's tile?"

I erected myself and scratched the back of my head in nervousness. Casper was leaning on the kitchen doorframe smirking at me, his black hair dripping wet from the shower.

"I--uh--just spilled some water." I stuttered.

"Aw, I hoped it was grape juice." Casper pouted and sat on the shiny, granite counter.

"Why do you hate each other? I can't stand fighting with Riley." I say.

"Maybe because of the fact that she's your daughter?" Casper says, trying to be a smart ass.

I bit my lip, "Speaking of. When can I go home?"

"Slow your horses. We have to make a plan. Listen, if you go home now Aiden will know and goes to slaughter you all. He probably knows I helped you escape so we have to make him think otherwise." Casper says as he took the sugar jar and emptied the contents in the sink.
