The Act - Seventeen - Twenty (the end)

Chapter 17
She has fainted again. Thank God he was there by her side this time. He rushed her over to the hospital room he had installed for Marcella, the same one Dara had used the last time. He was grateful Hammed was there to attend to her immediately.
He had given Derin drugs to calm her nerves. She was now sleepijg peacefully on the couch.

" Timi what happened" she asked.
" You passed out" he said rushing to her side. Chidi and Hammed were in the room as well. "Have some water" . She drank the water he offered her.

"Where is Derin" she asked as she looked from one face to another.

" She's sleeping in the living area... She's fine" he reassured her. That calmed her down a little.

Timi held her hands and rubbed is palms around them. He made her lie down and kissed her fore head

" it's them....isn't it?" she said as she started to cry " my sister could have died, they thought she was me "

" I am sorry " he said as he kissed her hand.

" Chidi, please come. Talk to me what happened" she said looking hopefully at him. He looked at Timi who nodded for him to go ahead and tell her what happened.

" When I called her to notify her about the instructions I was given, she requested I come and pick her at where she was at Isaac John. We then headed to the village to get some of her things. She did that for about 10 minutes while I waited down stairs then I heard an explosion. I ran up to make sure she was fine and I saw her lying on the floor. Knocked out. From the smell, one could tell there was a gas leakage" he narrated

" God, honestly I haven't done any cooking since I left here" she said looking at Timi

"God I feel sick....I just need to be next to my sister now...she needs me"

"I think we might have to move faster than we planned" Timi said to her " Chidi please make arrangements"
Chidi nodded before leaving the room.

"Timi help me up okay" she said towards Timi.

" I doubt that, Dara...if I may ask you when last did you see your period" Hammed asked .

"Last month " she replied as she exchanged looks with Timi.
"Well, you are pregnant " he said with a smile " give or take two months... You would have to come to the hospital to be sure enough"
Wait, no, no, no,no!

" I was on my pills and my period came regularly"

"Sometimes it happens, a change in hormone levels can render pills ineffective for a while and the blood is more or less spotting unlike regular period flow " he said sounding more professional than ever.

She looked at Timi who stared at him looking almost as shocked as he was.

" I will go and check on Derin now and let you both talk for a while"
Nobody said anything.

" Your boobs did feel bigger yesterday" he said as he turned to look at her with a smile on his face.

"Is that what you have to say" she said looking worried. He had made such a big deal about everything.

" Common on, You have to have a sense of humor about this" he said as he lifted her up in his arms and took her out.

" But we weren't together, aren't you even a little bit doubtful about the things I might have done during our time apart" she said

He ignored her and he watched her face change. He wanted to answer her but then she would get angry. He had kept an eye on her every movement. She really never did much.
