Within the ranks of the Mages Guild, there are few who have the reputation of the Elemental Guard: mages whose loyalties to the guild and the Arch-Mage are unmatched. Handpicked by the Arch-Mage himself to act as personal bodyguards, Elemental Mages are among some of the most advanced and skilled mages on the Northern Continent. They are mages who have become so in tune with their selected element that they can control it as if it were second nature to them, and thus, cannot be harmed by the element that they wield, meaning that a fire mage cannot be harmed by fire; an ice mage cannot be harmed by ice and lightning mages cannot be harmed by electricity.
However, the ranks of the Elemental Guard possess powers that go beyond Elemental spells. Elemental Guards are mages who strive to be the best and actively test themselves so they can home their skills as magic casters. Many mages within the Elemental are skilled Alteration and Conjuration spell casters, which makes them a force to not be underestimated.
Elemental Mages are loyal to the guild and to the Arch-Mage. They will not take orders from anyone else unless directed otherwise by the Arch-Mage themselves. While their role is primarily serving as protectors for the guild leadership, they also act as a security force for the Arcane Universities, and more talented individuals within the ranks may be permitted to teach the younger generations, although there have been speculations within the guild that the methods used by the Elemental Guard to teach beginning mages may be on the extreme side and should be cut back a little.
Elemental Guards serve as the face of the Mages Guild. They are the most well-known organization of the Mages Guild Elite Forces and have a reputation to uphold. They accept nothing less than perfection in every role they play.
