"I went to see the soldier's training and get into a bit of argument with the leader, but finally, he allowed me to watch," Ye Jiao gave the simplest explanation she could think of. There were a lot of missing points from her explanation, making it extremely general.
Ye Ai Xia arched her eyebrows. "What kind of argument is that?"
"Um, it's regarding military law that normal civilians are not allowed to watch the training or something like that."
"Jiao'er, did you learn about the laws?"
"No, I didn't," Ye Jiao replied honestly. She truly wanted to learn after this, though. If that general tried to use the law to punish her again, she might not be able to answer anything without prior knowledge.
Ye Ai Xia sighed as she massaged her temple. Her Eon Energy moved to inspect Ye Jiao's body. Upon seeing the bruises, her brows knitted further as deadly aura emerged from her body.
"They hit you?"
"Mom?" Ye Jiao could sense the murderous intent from her mother. It was not directed at her, but the thick bloodlust still affected her as she was standing not far from her mother.
Ye Ai Xia looked at Ye Jiao and tried to calm her temper. "Did they hit you?"
"It's the promise," Ye Jiao mumbled. "If I can withstand the punishment, I can stay to watch their practice."
"Jiao'er, you know that you can ask me if you want to know their practice, right?"
"But Mom said that you didn't know many physical skills."
Ye Ai Xia wanted to refute, but found no words to say. Well, she specialized in using her Eon Energy because Ye Xiao always protected her back in her childhood. Besides, as a beauty and genius, there was no one who dared to challenge her after she had recovered her mental thoughts.
As a result, she didn't have much battling experience.
"Fine, but you better not come home in this condition again. You're going to send me to my early grave," Ye Ai Xia sighed.
Ye Jiao was scared. "Mom, you're not going to die, right?"
Ye Ai Xia was stunned for a second. She forgot that she was talking with a young child who was still unable to differentiate between sentence with real meaning and those that was only said for figurative meaning. Looking at the trembling girl, she put on an amused smile.
"Silly girl, I'm not going to die that soon. I'm still young."
"That's good, Mom,"
Ye Ai Xia chuckled before hugged the girl and carried her up. "Now, let's wash you up and tend to your wound. I don't want your skin to be filled with bruise all over. It's not good for girls."
"Ok, Mom."
With gentle movement, Ye Ai Xia helped Ye Jiao to take a bath and applied the ointment. Seeing her bruised skin, she remembered her husband again. Every single day, Ye Xiao would come home filled with wounds here and there. It was her role to reprimand that reckless man and tended his wounds.
"Jiao'er, you're becoming more and more like Xiao Ge," Ye Ai Xia sighed.
Ye Jiao raised her head. "I want to become like my dad. He's very cool."
"Oh no, you shouldn't become like him." If this girl became similar to that reckless, idiot, and stupid husband of hers, she would have to take care of two annoying people. One was already more than enough. Having two of them would just mean more workloads for her.
"But Dad is really cool and amazing," Ye Jiao defended. In her eyes, the greatest person she ever knew must be her father. Kind, dependable, and of course, a bit shameless and proud at times.
Ye Ai Xia rolled her eyes. 'Xiao Ge, what in the world did you feed her with?'
After applying the ointment, Ye Ai Xia sighed and pointed to the backyard. "I have just bought some flower seeds. With your condition, I won't allow you to train, so you should help me to plant them all."
Ye Jiao looked at her legs. Indeed, she wouldn't be able to climb the trees in this condition. She had to wait for her legs to heal before sneaking out to see the training of the soldiers again. For the time being, she had to use her time to study other things.
"What flowers, Mom?"
"Lilies," Ye Ai Xia replied. "I specifically order them because they're beautiful. Their seeds are pretty rare in this kingdom."
Ye Jiao didn't have much knowledge over plants or anything like that, but her mother loved them. There were a lot of flowers in the backyard as Ye Ai Xia spent her time to tend them all. As for Ye Jiao, she only visited the place occasionally.
Lilies.
"Is that the kind of flower that has a lot of meaning, Mom?" Ye Jiao's eyes sparkled with interest.
Ye Ai Xia nodded her head. "Yes. I'll tell you all about them later. Now, can you stand up?"
Ye Jiao moved her legs slowly to the edge of the bed before climbing down. The moment her feet touched the ground, she could feel a bit of pain. As she put pressure on her feet, the pain increased as she felt as if her muscle was torn apart.
Hurriedly, she circulated her Eon Energy and used them to withstand the pain.
"Come on, little girl," Ye Ai Xia smiled and put her hand on Ye Jiao's shoulder, using the slightest bit of Eon Energy to help propping the girl.
Ye Jiao nodded her head and stepped forward bit by bit. The distance to the backyard were only several meters, but it took a long time for Ye Jiao to arrive due to her special condition. Her eyes watched the beautiful backyard, filled with flowers and other plants.
Ye Ai Xia helped Ye Jiao to sit down on top of a tree stump before taking out a pouch of seeds. She moved to the side and started to plant them with gentle movement.
'This place is beautiful.'
The scene of the garden made her felt comfortable. Ye Jiao slowly closed her eyes as she absorbed Eon Energy from outside and circulate it in her body before pushing it to her abdomen to form her core. This way, she would still nourish her body bit by bit in her practice every day.
The two of them spent the rest of the day peacefully as Ye Ai Xia enjoyed gardening and Ye Jiao enjoyed the warm Eon Energy that continued to flow into her body.
