It was morning when Mu Hong noticed his wine bottles had moved from its original place. He rebuked himself silently for telling Mu Xin regarding his youth in the past. Considering Mu Xin's personality, he never expected the little girl to do this before today.
"She had truly taken a liking to that lass," Sheng Ming yawned as he walked out, not caring about his appearance at all.
Mu Hong nodded his head. "I think that she has started to take her path without me in the picture anymore. It's kind of relieving to see her grow up and at the same time, I miss her when she only sees me in her world."
"I don't know you're that kind of father," Sheng Ming laughed. "She's not going to disappear anytime soon. You can spend more time with her if you want."
"I'm busy."
"Yeah, yeah, General Mu is extremely busy to the point that he neglects his work on the day his friend come~."
"Sheng Ming," Mu Hong warned in a stern tone.
Sheng Ming grinned. "I'm going to leave Brother Mu. Take care of yourself in this den filled with malicious people."
"I know."
The two of them stopped talking because Wang Jun had walked inside. He greeted the two of them formally.
"Good morning, General Mu. Good morning, Master."
Sheng Ming waved his hand. "No need to be so formal. Where's the two girls?"
"They're going to come soon."
True to Wang Jun's words, Mu Xin and Ye Jiao arrived into the living room not long afterwards. The two of them were rather cheerful, but Mu Xin's expression faltered a bit when she saw the wine bottle on her father's hand.
He didn't find out, right?
"Good morning General Mu and Teacher Sheng," Ye Jiao greeted first. After talking with Sheng Ming, she had regarded this man as her teacher too albeit not really formally.
"Good morning," Sheng Ming nodded his head. "We're going to depart after breakfast, so if you two have anything to say to Wang Jun, you can say it now."
Ye Jiao smiled. "Jun Ge, please take care of yourself and work harder to become stronger. When we meet again, let's practice together again."
"I understand," Wang Jun nodded. "I'll do my best."
"You should just focus on your practice and don't do anything unnecessary," Mu Xin said slowly. "If you don't grow stronger, I'll catch up to you and beat you up because you're breaking the promise."
Wang Jun wanted to cry. Was that something someone usually said when they said their farewell. Still, he knew that Mu Xin just wanted him to stay stronger than her.
"I'll continue to practice and become even better."
Mu Hong tapped the table. "Now, let's just eat first or the food is going to become cold. Also, Mu Xin, I want to have a talk with you later."
"Yes, Father."
The breakfast was quick because Sheng Ming didn't want to take a long time here. The journey was long and he didn't want to camp outside.
"We're going to depart, Wang Jun."
"Yes, Master," Wang Jun replied somberly. He turned to look at Mu Xin. "Don't forget to take care of yourself. Resting is an important part of training and I don't want to see you exert yourself."
"Even I know that myself."
Ye Jiao tried her best to not laugh when she heard Mu Xin retorted. The three of them were very familiar that once Mu Xin was absorbed in training, nothing could get in her way. Wang Jun had to stop her on several occasions or Mu Xin would have completely forgotten about eating.
Right at that time, a servant came inside. "Master, Lu Wan from Lu Family is here."
"Lu Wan?" Mu Xin asked.
"I ask him to come here after I hear that Ye Jiao is going to leave with him," Mu Hong explained.
Ye Jiao smiled. "Thank you very much, General Mu."
"It's nothing much."
They walked out and Ye Jiao quickly spotted Lu Wan stood in the courtyard. His green hair was extremely conspicuous as there was barely anyone who has the same hair color as him.
He looked at Ye Jiao. "Let's go back."
Mu Xin frowned slightly when she saw his rude attitude. "Ye Jiao, if he treats you badly, you're free to come here anytime."
"It's fine, Xin Jie," Ye Jiao changed the way she called Mu Xin because they have become sworn sisters. "He won't treat me badly."
For this, she was extremely sure that he wouldn't mistreat his junior sister because she still recalled how he treated her before. He might be blunt and rude, but he didn't treat her impolitely and helped her to understand many things regarding Hell Island. It should be said that he would surely take care of her well.
Besides, the real reason she had to stay in Lu Family Residence was because it was the last place Wei Family could possibly search for her. With the relationship between Lu and Wei seemingly like fire and water, the Wei Family would never try to search for her in that residence.
Even if they managed to find out, the protection inside the place was very tight. It would give her the necessary time to protect herself and run away.
"How I treat her is not your business, Mu Xin," Lu Wan spoke up. "There's no need to concern yourself of her."
"Ye Jiao is my sworn sister. I advise you to not try to do anything bad to her," Mu Xin rebutted back without fear.
Lu Wan arched his eyebrows. He sneaked a glance at the girl for confirmation and saw she nodded her head. Knowing that the two of them have a good relationship, he didn't want to make things difficult for Mu Xin.
"I'm not going to harm her, so you can rest assured," Lu Wan turned to Mu Hong. "Thank you for informing me, I'm going to take my leave now."
Mu Hong was dumbfounded when he heard the formal speech Lu Wan used. Given by how this rude brat always scolded people and hit them with his foul mouth, he thought that Lu Wan would still treat him harshly.
"It's not much, be careful on your way, Lu Wan."
Lu Wan nodded and turned around with Ye Jiao followed behind him. She sneaked a glance behind and waved her hand to bid her farewell.
Sheng Ming patted Wang Jun's shoulder. "Let's be on our way too, Brat."
"Yes, Master."
As the two groups went their separate ways, Mu Xin's gaze was fixated on them. Each of them have their own different path that they have to tread for their future. Now, they went their separate ways, but she believed that they would surely reunite together again.
"They've left. You should prepare for school, Mu Xin," Mu Hong reminded his daughter. "I'll talk to you about the matter of underage later at night."
"Yes, Father."
Mu Xin silently clenched her fist. She would surely chase after Wang Jun and make sure that she could stay with her friends.
