When Ye Jiao arrived by the intersection, she could see a shadow dashing in front of her. The man was running faster to the other side.

'He's fast.'

Ye Jiao headed to the other side, determined to overtake the man and ambushed him. Her experience was still extremely low. Except hunting some wolves, she had never killed anything else.

While making sure that her steps didn't alarm anyone, Ye Jiao traveled the street. Her eyes widened when she saw a shadow climb the gate. At this time, she realized that he must have wanted to get out.

'Let's ambush him outside.'

Kicking the wall of a house nearby, Ye Jiao used the force to push her upwards. Her hand was holding the wall that separated the village to the forest. With light movement, she pushed her body up and jumped off the wall to the forest.

The moment she landed, Ye Jiao dashed straight to the direction of the shadow. At this time, the man had just landed on the ground.

Stab!

Ye Jiao used the wolf's rib that she brought along with her as the weapon. The shape of the bone has allowed her to kill a lot of wolves in the past. In the end, she got accustomed to the curve and could use them easily.

The bone pierced straight to the man's shoulder and part of his neck.

'I miss!'

Slash!

The man swung his dagger as he stepped bad. Blood flowed out from the wound on his shoulder. His eyes widened when he saw the person who wounded him was nothing more than a small kid.

"You-!"

Right after he retreated, Ye Jiao dashed forward once more. Her height didn't allow her to attack the man's neck again, so her target changed to the man's stomach. The curve bone pierced through the man's stomach, right at his core.

The core shattered inside his body, sending violent Eon Energy out of his body.

The man was shocked, but he swung his dagger once again to hit Ye Jiao. Stepping to the back, Ye Jiao avoided the attack in an extremely short distance. The dagger's tip basically passed in front of her eyes.

After he had swung the sword, Ye Jiao took another rib out of her bracelet and stabbed the man's thigh. Because of the pain, the man moved back and stumbled.

"Aaa!"

He swung his dagger aimlessly, trying to hit Ye Jiao. Unfortunately, Ye Jiao had moved to the side and pierced the bone straight to the man's neck.

Stab!

Blood splattered all over from the wound she made. As Ye Jiao pulled out the bone, blood flowed out like a river from the man's neck, flooding the ground red with blood. The man's eyes stared back at Ye Jiao in disbelief as light slowly faded out of his eyes.

He had died.

"It's done..."

Ye Jiao murmured to herself as she looked at the corpse before her. Her hands were trembling in both fear and anxiousness. She had seen wolf corpses a lot of times in the past, but this was the first time she saw a man die right in front of her.

The way he looked at her, full of grievances and disbelief, was embedded right into her eyes.

"Ugh!"

Ye Jiao turned around and vomited right on the spot. Her hand was clenching on the tree nearby as she trembled badly. Right now, she was trying to come in terms with her actions and decisions.

She had killed someone.

The feeling was hard to take for her, which took Ye Jiao a long time to calm down. She continued to vomit until there was nothing left. Ye Jiao struggled to move and sat down on the ground not far from that place. Only after an unknown amount of time did she calm down.

'I... have to cut his head.'

Ye Jiao turned around to the man's corpse. Her only weapon was only the curved bones from the wolf's rib plus some other bones that she had sharpened back then. She hadn't had the chance to get a proper weapon, so she just made do with anything she had.

Pushing her feeling down her throat, Ye Jiao worked on cutting off the man's neck. The supposedly short job took a longer time than she thought.

'I can do this.'

'Don't worry.'

Ye Jiao didn't know how many times she chanted calming sentences for herself. The minutes like hours finally passed and she bundled the head with the wolf's skin that she had with her.

After she had finished, Ye Jiao put it inside her spatial bracelet and tried to forget everything. She dragged her body back to the restaurant. At the very least, she had to bid goodbye to the kind restaurant owner.

It took a long time for her to return back, but Ye Jiao chose to clean herself first before lying on the bed. She slept for a long time until the middle-aged man came to wake her up.

"Hey, brat, it's already midday. What are you doing sleeping like a log all day?" the middle-aged man asked with annoyance.

"Ah, sorry," Ye Jiao sat down and rubbed her eyes. She noticed that the middle-aged man looked pale. "Is there anything wrong?"

"The thief worked again last night in the mayor's house, but this time there's someone who killed him brutally," the middle-aged man sighed. "I don't know why, but I feel that the city has become unsafe lately."

Ye Jiao smiled wryly. The so-called brutal killer was actually her, but there was no way she could say that to this kind restaurant owner. She stood up.

"Mister, I'll be going from this town, my parents must be worried about me."

"Ah? Are you sure you're going to go when there's someone as dangerous as this outside?"

"Yes, I don't want to worry them anymore," Ye Jiao replied. In any case, she only had a limited amount of time to finish the mission, so she didn't want to waste any more time in this village.

The middle-aged man sighed. "I really can't calm down if I don't see your parents."

"There's no need to worry. I'll be alright," Ye Jiao grinned.

Even though the man was unconvinced, he didn't have any other choice but to let Ye Jiao off. After forcing herself to eat lunch, Ye Jiao departed to submit her mission.
