"Ye Jiao," in the end, Wang Jun was the one to break the stalemate. He found it hard to believe that Ye Jiao was standing before him right now. It has been a long time since the last time he saw her. However, he had to believe that she was truly standing before him right now.

Ye Jiao smiled. "How are you, Jun Ge?"

The familiar voice of a young girl shook the young man's heart slightly. He had to admit that he kind of missed this young girl because of how much Mu Xin frustrated all this time.

It took him some time to smile. "I'm fine, Miss Ye Jiao."

"Jiao'er," Mu Xin stepped forward and slowly walked towards Ye Jiao. Her eyes were filled with disbelief, yet joy stemmed out from the bottom of her heart. She missed her little friend. They were not only training friends but also genuine friends who cared for one another very much.

"Senior Mu," Ye Jiao called once again.

Before Mu Xin could reach her, she dashed forward and hugged the girl. It has been months since the last time she saw Mu Xin. She couldn't help but missing the girl very much.

For the past few months, she was busy training to make sure that she could grow stronger. When she lost her mother, she thought that she didn't have anyone else who would care for her. But it was wrong.

She still has her friends.

They cared for her and wished for her wellbeing. Even though her situation was not the best, they were willing to stay behind and help her.

The two girls stayed in each other's embrace for a long time as if they wanted to make sure that it was real. Wang Jun didn't dare to join in as he only watched from the side with a warm smile plastered on his face. He felt glad that the two of them could meet with one another again.

"You're always making other people worry, brat," Mu Xin chided as she pushed back and tried to regain her composure.

Ye Jiao flashed a cheeky smile. "Isn't that what I'm best at."

"You!" Mu Xin poked the girl's forehead. She smiled warmly, a kind smile that rarely appeared on her usually cold and detached expression. "I'm glad that you're still alive, Jiao'er."

"I'm sorry," Ye Jiao apologized.

"It's not your fault, you didn't have to apologize."

"I'm still alive, but I didn't tell you about that, so it's normal that I have to apologize," Ye Jiao felt guilty that she didn't let Mu Xin know she was still alive. All this time, her mind was only preoccupied by the thought of her own wellbeing and condition to the point that she forgot about her friends.

In the first place, she didn't have many friends. The word seemed so strange for her until she met with Mu Xin some time ago.

Mu Xin shook her head slightly. "It's not your fault. You have a lot going on at your side, so it's normal for you to forget about me."

"Mhm," Ye Jiao nodded her head in agreement despite still feeling a bit guilty.

Wang Jun cleared his throat to gain the two girl's attention. "Miss Ye, do you want to come together with us to Mu Family Residence?"

"Can I?" Ye Jiao's eyes lit up when she heard the suggestion.

"Why not? You always go there in the past and I'm sure that my father wants to make sure that you're alright too," Mu Xin explained. Even though she was not the type of person who liked to talk a lot, this time she took the chance to explain things for Ye Jiao. If it was for Ye Jiao, she didn't mind spending more of her time for her.

"I understand."

"Before that," Mu Xin paused for a moment. "Do you want to tell your mother that you're going?"

She had heard from her father that Ye Ai Xia was Ye Jiao's real mother. Even though Ye Ai Xia was known to be Ye Xiao's sister, they were only sworn sisters without any blood relation whatsoever. By now, a lot of people have already heard the real truth of Ye Jiao's condition.

Still, it made people wonder how two young geniuses could produce a trash.

Of course, Mu Xin would never tell Ye Jiao those rumors from the street that she heard. It was already enough for her to just tell the important points for her.

"Ah," Ye Jiao flashed a sad smile. "Mother has passed away and I already tell her that I'm going not long ago."

"Ah," Mu Xin was startled. She didn't expect to hear that Ye Jiao's mother has passed away. Some people did think that way because the two of them seemed to disappear into thin air. After all, Eon Energy Master rank 3 was quite rare in other cities other than the capital.

Considering that Ye Ai Xia reached rank 4, it could be said that she would be at the forefront should she was alive.

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine."

Wang Jun crouched down to look at Ye Jiao at the same eye level. "If you're sad, you can just tell me. I'll surely help you."

"There's no need to talk to him," Mu Xin cut off the words harshly. "Just tell me and I'll be the one to console you."

Ye Jiao smiled. "It's fine. I'm already over it."

"If your mother has died, how did you manage to survive in the past 8 months?"

Hearing Mu Xin's question, Ye Jiao merely smiled. There was no way she could possibly explain that she spent the last 8 months in Hell Island, right? The fact that she got into an assassin's organization alone would surely bring trouble for her.

She might be young, but she is not stupid. She knew that some things were better left unsaid.

Mu Xin seemed to understand Ye Jiao's stand as she nodded. "Since it's like that, let's go to Mu Family Residence. There are a lot of things that changes in the city because of that attack."

"Please do tell."

"Sure~."
