Following her senior brother, Ye Jiao noticed that there were a lot of people walking around her. Their ages varied as there were some adults and children. Most of the adults were covering their faces, though. It was as if they were worried that other people would see them.

"Hey, you're so slow."

"I'm sorry."

"Assassin is just a side job for some people and they don't wish to be found out because it can tarnish their reputation," Lu Wan started talking as if he could read Ye Jiao's mind. "They want to keep their daily lives but at the same time, earn money from the mission in the organization. Some of them even do this because they want to have revenge on certain people."

"Revenge?"

"Yeah. For example, they post a mission for a certain person's assassination and then pretend to be the assassin itself. If he's incapable of doing it himself, he can just form a temporary party and if he's far stronger, he can just use this organization to mask his crime."

The way Lu Wan told it made Ye Jiao wonder whether her senior brother was truly normal. He talked about these methods very casually. However, this was the first time she heard of these things. It seemed that a human's mind was extraordinary to think of various methods just to mask their crimes.

"They're amazing."

"It's fairly normal," Lu Wan pushed the door open. "In this world, only the strong can survive, so the weaker one have to think of various methods just to survive. Think of it from your perspective, didn't you also employ some tricks just to be able to stay alive?"

Tricks?

Yeah, Ye Jiao herself knew that she was also doing whatever possible to hide her presence and live while growing stronger. Granted, there were various ways that she could pick, but she ended up picking one that allowed her to stay in the kingdom while hiding her identity as someone unimportant.

"What kind of mission do you think Master chooses for us?" Ye Jiao changed the subject as they lined up.

The hall was spacious and there were several counters at the front. They just have to line up in one of them if they want to accept a mission. The two of them didn't think too much as they just lined up in one of them.

"Knowing him, I wouldn't be surprised if he picked a dangerous mission," Lu Wan smiled bitterly.

"You're right...."

That sadistic master of theirs would surely pick a hard mission for them. He wouldn't care for anything at all.

Even though the line was long, it didn't take long for the two of them to reach the front.

"Welcome, is this the first time you come here?" the man on the counter asked politely.

"Yes," Lu Wan replied.

"If that's so, state your name and your master's name if there's any."

"I'm Yu Shui and my master is Zhan Jing. This is my junior sister, Ai Jiao under the same master," Lu Wan took out his badge and placed it on the counter while Ye Jiao followed suit.

The man nodded his head and took the two badges. He transmitted Eon Energy into the badge to identify it before returning it back to the two children in front of him.

"Master Zhan Jing left a group mission for the two of you to deal with the case of a murderer in this village. Here's the culprit and the information about him," the man handed a scroll.

"Thank you. Is there anything else that we need to know?" Ye Jiao asked since this was the first time she came here.

The man shook his head. "Unless you can finish the mission and deliver his head back here, there's nothing else that you need to know. Also, the time limit for the mission is one month. Please keep that in mind that you have to finish the mission or you'll be punished."

Hearing that answer, Ye Jiao knew that it would be impossible for her to ask anything more from the man. Still, it was not weird for him to not answer any of their questions since they were nothing but children who came for their first mission. Until they proved themselves to be capable, they wouldn't want to answer any of the questions.

"I understand, let's go."

The two of them moved to the side as Lu Wan opened the scroll and read the content. His face scrunched up the moment he read the list.

"That damned master."

"Is there any problem with the mission, Senior Brother L-Yu?"

Lu Wan handed the scroll to Ye Jiao. "Just read it yourself."

Taking the scroll, Ye Jiao started to read it in curiosity. Upon landing her gaze on the information list, she didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

In short, the man they had to kill was a local governor in a village. He was already Eon Energy Master rank 2 since a few years ago and has a lot of Eon Energy Master rank 1 as his guards. If it was not worse, he rarely got out of his protected residence unless he wanted to find his new prey.

"This is troublesome."

"Not only troublesome, but if he didn't get out of his residence, we're going to be forced to enter that fortress," Lu Wan said in an annoyed tone.

The two of them smiled bitterly. They have the confidence that they could defeat Eon Energy Master rank 1 if they were given time. However, defeating Eon Energy Master rank 2 after fighting against a bunch of Eon Energy Master rank 1 was surely out of the question.

They were only Eon Energy Master rank 1, so their energy and power was limited.

"We should just do our best."

"Yeah, you're right," Lu Wan sighed and put the scroll into his storage bracelet. Internally, he still wanted to curse their master, but time was tight. They had to finish the mission before the time was up. It was not the time to curse his master.

The two of them walked out as Ye Jiao's eyes landed on a group of people who came not far from them. A familiar youthful face was found among the group of youngsters.

"Lin Jie," Ye Jiao unconsciously muttered.

The boy in question stopped in his tracks. His eyes widened and he called out her name. "Ai Jiao."
