"URIAH PEDRAD YOU CANT MAKE ME DO THIS."

I laugh, "I guess not Marlene but we're at the top and there's no other way to get down without skiing."

Two days after Christmas we picked up Shauna and Hector (no Lynn of course| she's in therapy because Shauna told Zeke what happened, which Hector overhead that conversation and he told his parents and now Lynn's even more damaged, but she's getting better.) and went skiing. Marlene isn't the best at it she keeps falling and I laugh my ass off while she punches me in the gut.

She groans, "Uriah I'm going to fall."

I snort, "I know."

She grunts.

"This is like the tallest hill."

"Correction, it's the forth tallest, so."

She rolls her eyes.

"Okay you ready?" I say putting my hand in between her shoulder blades.

She gasps.

"Ready,

"Set,"

"Uriah, nooooo."

"Go." and I push her off.

I get into position and hurdle after her.

She screams and I let out a laugh.

She gets near the end and one of her sticks fall out of her hand and she falls.

"SHIT."

I laugh really hard and land in a perfect form.

"HAHA very funny Uriah."

"Come on get up Marlene," I say through laughs.

"Do you think I would've already if I could."

I grab her arm and pull her up and she falls against my chest.

She's cold and shivering even though she's wearing four layers of clothing.

I feel her that heartbeat is fast and smile at her glare.

"Do you want to go inside?"

She nods and try's to move forward but falls again.

I stifle a laugh and pull her up.

"Do you need me to carry you inside?" I tease.

She punches me hard in the ribs.

We go back inside and I get two hot chocolates.

"These are scorching." I say taking of three layers of snow gear and hand a cup of hot cocoa to her.
"And payed for by me."

"Yeah you better of bought me hot chocolate. Who's idea was it to go skiing anyway?"

I snort, "you."

"I thought I'd be fun," her face is pink as she takes off all her layers and sets them on the chair next to her.
"It wasn't."

I smile at her.

"Quite looking at me, like that, you weirdo."

I put my hands up in defense and laugh.

"Why so grumpy Mar?"

She glares at me, "I'm cold and falling on your ass twenty million times does not make a person happy."

I laugh at that, "wanna go again?"

"Out there," she points outside, "I'm never going out in that living hell ever again."

I text my mom and after twenty thousand selfies later we get in our car and drive home.

Marlene Hector and I in the middle, fighting over a bag of Pringles.

Zeke and Shauna in the middle of the mini van.

And my mom in the front.

I see that everyone is asleep but me and my mom.

I kiss Marlene on the forehead and whisper "sweat dreams, beautiful."

I fall asleep a minute later.
