Chapter XIX

Detective Conan kissed his wife goodbye and told each of his kids to enjoy their day at school. His oldest Jacob was also going to Mora High; he knew Rebecca and her friends but they never had no type of conversation. Jason got into his squad car and was driving to the station to meet up with his partner.
 

Morrison got in his car and they was headed to the Steele's residents once again. Some things wasn't adding up; there had to be a motive behind Andrea kidnapping there daughter. They arrive at the three storey house.
They got out and walked up the path to the house and knocked on the door and was greeted by the maid. "Good morning ma'am is the Steele's home?" Morrison asked smiling.

"Mr . Steele step out for a bit but Mrs Steele is in her office..... Please come in" she opened the door so that they could enter.

    Clara showed them the way to the office. Conan knocked on the maghonay door, "come in" Natalie says as she busy herself behind the computer screen.
She had buried herself in her work since her daughter's disappearance.
Detective Conan and Morrison both walked in. Natalie glance up "detectives, what can I do for you both?" She says getting up.

"We just wanted to ask you some questions?"

She nods, "have a seat gentlemen....can I get you guys something to drink.... Water, scotch, wine, coffee, tea"she says going to the mini bar that was in the corner of the room.

"Water will be fine" they both said as they sat down on the sofa. Natalie pours them each a glass of water adding a slice of lemon to it for flavour and pouring herself a glass of red wine. She hands them there water and sat down back behind her desk.

"Where were you around the time your daughter went missing?"  Conan asked her taking out his notepad to jot down what she saying.

"I went back to Honduras. There was another out break of the Zika virus."

"Okay...... What can you tell us about Victoria Ross"

With a perfectly arched brow she looks at both detectives "who"she questions.

"Victoria Ross, mother of the alleged kidnapper."

"I know who she is...... Just wondering why you bringing her up. Her daughter kidnapped mines."

Morrison looks at his partner he wanted to know where he was going with this. Conan had a hunch that Natalie knew something that could of been a trigger to kidnapping her daughter.

  "Do you know that Andrea and your daughter are sisters by father"

Natalie took a drink of her wine, how did they find out about that was something she had a her lawyers bury some years back no one was supposed to find out about not even her own daughter.

"What there must be some type of mistake detective my husband has only one child that's Rebecca" she says lying. She didn't look at the the detectives while answering them.

Conan smirks at his partner he knew she was lying she couldn't make eye contact with them. "If that's all the questions you want to ask I need to get back to work I have a Skype call I have to take any minute"she says getting up to open the door to let them out.

They walk out " please call if you remember anything that could help us".

She nods yes and quickly closed the door. As they both exited the house Morrison asked him "what was all that about?"

"I did some digging David had two children Andrea and Rebecca.... Natalie knew about the two girls being sisters but she clearly denies it.... The real question is why?" He says getting into his car along with his partner.

He was driving to Victoria's mother house. Jacinta Ann-Marie Ross lives in another town not to far. Conan briefs his partner on the rest of his discovery. When they got to the address they saw a woman sitting outside on her verandah with two other women laughing and gossiping. They got out the car and walks up the stairs. "Good day ladies I'm detective Conan and this is my partner Morrison"he says greeting the ladies.

Jacinta and her friends looks towards them and greets the two handsome gentlemen.  "What can I do for you gent's?"she questions.

  Jacinta friends left her to talk to the detectives. We want to ask you some questions about your daughter and granddaughter?" They asked.

She let them in her house away from prying eyes. "Have a seat.....can I offer you some ice tea?"

  They both decline as she sat opposite them, "what did Victoria and Andie do now?" She asked dusting lint of her dress.

  "Did your granddaughter ever gave birth to a baby girl?"

"No Andrea had a miscarriage when she was just three months, why do you ask?".

"I found some information about your granddaughter giving birth to a little girl and it says you're her legal guardian"

Jacinta placed her hand over her heart. " I haven't heard and seen from both of them in years. Andrea never gave birth to no child and it dam well ain't staying here" she says.

"What's this about?"

"Your granddaughter kidnap a young girl by the  name of Rebecca Steele"

"She did what?"

"She kidnapp......."

"I heard what you said just can't believe my granddaughter would do such a thing. She maybe a liar and a cheat but she ain't no kidnapper".

"Do you know Natalie Andrews- Steele".

"That little wench deserve all she gets she is evil and you gent's upset me bringing that evil woman name in my house you need to leave" she get up and opens the door for them to leave. Both detectives left they didn't have any leads only hunch.

"Whats next?"

"Speak to the husband and Victoria herself, we need answers, solve this case".
