She looks towards the clock, the sea of tears blurring her view.
"W-what... what happened...? Did they delay the shut down??!!"
A slight shimmer of hope presented itself.
The clock had struck midnight, and still, she was here. She looked toward the clock once more, but there was a problem.
Gone.
The clock along with her entire console was gone. Not to be found anywhere. All that could be seen is the world before her.
Wait what... what happened to the console...
"[Contact game administrator]"
She attempted to use a spell. This spell was one given to all players in Yggdrasil, and wouldn't cost mana. It was created to allow players to report hackers or glitches, but was used for several reasons as time went on.
But it hadn't had an effect.
No admins came.
It was something that hadn't ever happened before. The game admins were a team of people who were hired by the company to make sure the game was running effectively at all times.
"Why isn't anyone coming? What's going on?!"
She stood baffled for a moment, in a state of complete disarray, before a mysterious force overcame her. An aura of silver surrounded her body and appeared to calm her.
"W-what was that... no... no time to worry over it, first I need to understand what's happening!"
She had read these sorts of things many times in her life, books from the early 21st century, isekai. It was a tale where one would get trapped into another world, often through a summoning from a god or a process similar to reincarnation. But she read a few in which one somehow got trapped in a game.
Is that what happened here? No no no no... that shouldn't be possible...
She looked around once again and detected a faint aroma of nature. For a moment she had lost herself in it, her adventuristic senses taking over. The crisp air surrounding her nose, arising from the grass and flowers.
"Ahh~ this scent is so peaceful. W-wait a second... scent?!"
The current technology has developed leaps and bounds beyond anything in the past, but the process of scent in games had always remained impossible.
The feel of fresh air caressing itself against her face. The scent of her environment. It had all been coming to the same conclusion she had found.
But the defining feature was her own body. She could actually feel her own body, as if it weren't just a character in a game but an actual body. As if she were not in a game.
"So... I really am in this game now... aren't I? Hah..."
She fell onto her back, feeling the itchy touch of grass against her cheek, another concept that couldn't happen if not for this crazy scenario she'd come up with.
This is probably just a dream or something... I haven't really slept for a few days... just a hallucination... that's it. I'm going to fall asleep and wake up on my bed, perfectly normal~
She closed her eyes and drifted off into her dreams.
