Every member of the village who had retained their life came together in its center, huddling.
Not a single sound left them before the scene that had taken place. Watching as this singular human came down to the earth in a flash of light, utterly decimating those soldiers.
Those who had so easily slaughtered them had become those who were so mercilessly slaughtered.
This very person began calmly walking towards them, as if she was walking through a pleasant field of flowers. Stepping on the severed limbs and pools of blood that fill the area under her, without a hint of remorse upon her elegant face.
Her eyes glanced towards those people, their mind in a frenzy of cowardice, but their bodies overcome by fear. They had been restrained, unable to run nor hide even if they wished with all their might.
W...what's she g...gonna do to us??
I'll see you soon father... mother...
I wish... I wish I told you how I loved you Rebecca...
we... we're going to die... i don't... no...
W-wait... I know I asked god for death... but I'm not ready yet!Their minds filled with such thoughts as these, regrets, sorrows, fears, a wish to delay what is inevitable for all who live.
However this young woman held no such intentions.
Before their very eyes, she seemed to transform.
Her eyes flared not with murderous intent, but shone with the sweetness of a mother. Her smile filled with bloodlust a moment ago, became that of a sweet wife happy to see her significant other after a long day's work.
She radiated a beauty unlike that seen before in this world. Not one of lust, but that of warmth, filling the heart. Allowing a sense of fulfillment and completeness in life.
This very figure of purity was the remnants of that beast, a bloodthirsty and almost demonic creature seeking nothing more than the torment of her pray.
Walking forward several paces, she stood before the village.
From the crowd of villagers, a single man moves forward. He wore some sort of red headwear with clothes covered in dirt, a dark green shirt with sleeves extending down to his wrist and light brown pants pants tattered with stitches and rips.
"Who... who are you, ma'am?" The man looked up from his kneeling position toward the female knight.
"I happened to see this village being attacked from a distance, so I decided that it was only right for me to offer my assistance. Rest at ease everyone, you're all going to be safe now."
Her gentle smile illuminated the hearts of the villagers causing a downpour of tears from their eyes, they felt rejuvenated by the start of a new life.
I think now should be a good time to get the word out. It seems like this'll be fun!
"All of you are now under my protection. The Goddess of Justice, Akemi. That is who I am!"
Once again an eerie silence overflows the village. In unison, they all stand there, baffled by the declaration she had made.
The village chief once again took a step forward to converse with her.
"I...I'm sorry... did I just hear you wrong...? Or... are you really... an actual Goddess?!" A tear streamed down the man's face, even when he had not shed one once he had heard of his own life being spared.
If one took into consideration what she had said, then any man or woman would write it off as nothing more then someone who had gone insane. But these villagers saw a sense of truth to her words.
Coming down from the heavens in a flash of golden light. Eliminating those who had committed evil without the slight bit of restraint. The divine aura that seemed to surround her. The gentle and soft tone of her voice.
If she would have claimed to be a goddess, they would believe it. And in fact, that's exactly what she had done.
"That is correct. I have descended from the realm of Gods onto this very plane. I intend to see how the races and creatures of this world have come to live."
The man stood for several seconds, without even a twitch in his muscles.
"This... it's... it's unbelievable... our prayers... they have all been answered... oh Goddess... oh mighty Goddess of Justice, Her holiness Akemi!! You... you shall forever have our worship and gratitude for this day!"
This members of the village had followed in his pattern, remaining still for several moments before nodding with the chief's bold statement.
Several seconds later they had all erupted in a cheer, one full of nothing but pure joy and gratitude. To have been saved by a goddess herself, was the highest honor a human could hope to achieve.
"To the Goddess Akemi!"
"All hail the Goddess!"
"To our savior!"They had begun to dance and drink, smiles on their faces and the most delicious foods they could find in the village.
They had given up on life this day, but it had not given up on them, and so the villagers decided to hold a celebration in honor of their goddess.
