Super sorry for the late update, I had an English Essay to present and I was freaking out so I was working on that, and then I got a little sick but here's a chapter now! Again, really sorry.

You and Steve were getting your blood drawn at the SSR Compound in hopes that they could get some of the serum from your blood stream to create a copy of it. With Erskine dead, it would take a really long time to replicate the serum.

Erskine's death was a shock to you and Steve, Erskine had grown to be a friend and you were sad that he was gone. In your opinion, you didn't get to spend enough time with him. Steve on the other hand, was blaming himself for Erskine's death. He thought that he could've stopped him in time if he weren't so distracted. You kept telling him that he was blameless, but he disagrees.

They took one last sample of your blood and then Steve asked, "Do you think that's enough?" He took the needle off that was attached to his arm with some tape and sat up in the uncomfortable chair he was sitting in.

Peggy sighed and said, "Any hope of reproducing a program is locked in you and Y/N's genetic code. But with out Erskine, the process could take years."

Steve gritted his teeth and looked down at his hands that were placed on his lap, "He deserved more than this, if only I weren't so distracted-"

"Steve," You cut him off, "For the millionth time, his death had nothing to do with you, we all feel a little guilty about his death, but what's done is done and he's in a better place now." You put your hand on his shoulder and he looked up and met your gaze and his once bright blue eyes were now darker than ever.

"I wish I could believe you Y/N, I really do..." He said, searching your eyes, "but this is just going to take time."

You nodded, not saying anything, and walked out of the door and followed Peggy to the Tech lab with Steve following behind you.

You walked into the dimly lit room to find Senator Brant and Colonel Phillips standing next to Howard Stark. You stood next to Peggy and Steve stood to your left.

"Colonel Phillips," Brandt said sternly, "my committee is expecting answers." They were talking about the spy that killed Erskine and ruined the making of more super soldiers.

"Great," Phillips said, "Why don't we start with how a German spy got a ride to my secret installation in your car?" Phillips said angrily, they sure didn't seem to get along well. Phillips turned around to look Howard start who was working on the submarine that the spy had tried to escape in. "What have we got here?" He asked.

Stark looked down to the submarine in defeat and sighed, "Speaking modestly, I'm the best mechanical engineer in this country, but I don't know what the hell is inside this ting or how it works. We're not even close to this kind of technology. It's like something from the future."

"Well, then who is?" Brandt asked.

"HYDRA," Phillips said seriously, "I'm sure you've been reading our briefings."

"I'm on a number of committes, Colonel." Brandt said, annoyed.

"HYDRA is the Nazi dee science division. It's led by Johann Schmidt. But he has much bigger ambitions." Peggy stated.

"HYDRA's practically a cult," Phillips began, "They worship Schmidt, they think he's invincible, they think he's a god."

"Well, what are you going to do about it?" Brandt asked.

"Spoke to the president this morning. As of today, the SSR is being retasked." Phillips said.

"Colonel?" Peggy questioned, with one eyebrow raised.

"We are taking the fight to HYDRA. Pack your bags Agent Carter, you too Stark. Because tonight, you're flying to London." Phillips said, looking at Peggy and Stark.

"What about us?" You asked, referring to you and Steve.

"Yeah," Steve began, "If you guys are going after Schmidt, we want in." He said firmly.

"Look," Phillips began, pinching the bridge of his nose, "You too are just experiments. You're both going to Alamogordo."

Your ears began to burn after hearing his words, after all this and he just thought of you two as experiments? Even after the outcome that's all he thought of you two? You tried to calm yourself down as best as you could before you questioned. "But sir, the serum worked, why can't we come along?"

"I asked for an army and all I got was you two. You are not enough." Phillips said angrily.

Brandt turned to you and Steve and said, "With all due respect to the Colonel, I think we may be missing the point. I've seen you two in action, and more importantly, the country's seen it." he turned to grab a paper from his aide and showed it to you and Steve. The title said Nazis in New York - Mystery man and woman save child. "The enlistment lines have been around the block since your picture hit the news stands. You don't take a symbol like that and hide it in a lab. You two, do you want to serve your country on the most important battlefield of war?" He questioned.

You and Steve immediately straightened up and said, "Sir, that's all we want."

"Well congratulations soldiers," He said, slapping Steve on the arm with the newspaper he was holding as he walked by, "You just got promoted."

You and Steve looked at each other, both of you with wide smiles on your faces and you did a little happy dance while Steve just laughed at you and picked you up and spun you around, but little did you know, you were not getting the kind of promotion you two thought you were.

This one is quite a bit shorter than my other ones, but I hope you enjoyed! I'm trying to not copy all of the script, but it's hard when it's a big part of the plot. Might post another shortish chapter if I get bored later, but not positive.

Thx for reading, Toodles! ~
