"jack can you make sure you buy laundry detergent please, you and johnson finished it last week" ryan yelled to downstairs where the boys played video games.
5 months after living alone, ryan decided to move in with jack and his best friend, also named jack.
"don't worry baby i got you" johnson teased.
living in LA had taught ryan how to become independent and love herself which she never realized she didn't.
"jack and i are going to chipotle, you want anything?" the blonde haired boy asked.
"i'm okay, i'm gonna grab chick fil a before class" ryan smiled at his offer.
living with boys actually wasn't that bad. she was the mom that made them clean up their mess, and they were her overprotective brothers always looking after her. jack and ryan did get drunk one night and had sex, but quickly realized it was a bad idea.
ryan packed her backpack and rode her scooter to the chick fil a across campus.
she decided to eat there since she had the time. mid nugget she kept hearing a sound of obnoxious men yelling.
removing the airpod from her ear, she turned around and saw him. it had been so long and his dreads were in desperate need of being redone, but it was him.
after proms disaster, ryan blocked each and everyone of the boys. it wasn't that she had anything against them, but they were zions friends. they belonged to him and since she could no longer have him, she had to end her relationship with the others.
"ryan?" brandon's raspy voice said.
it was like it triggered something within all of them because all the boys turned their heads to see what brandon was seeing.
nick ran over, nearly pulling ryan out of her booth to hug her.
"i hate you so much, but i've also missed you like crazy" he spat out uncontrollably.
all the boys took their turns hugging, zion keeping his distance.
"hi zion" ryan smiled.
the boy nodded his head not wanting to say a word, with the fear that he might say something he didn't want her to hear.
"what are you guys doing here?" ryan changed the conversation.
"uhh, we came to eat" austin scratched his head.
"i mean in LA" ryan rolled her eyes at the sarcastic comment.
"we kind of just moved here" brandon admitted.
"are you serious? how exciting!" a smile grew on her face.
"yeah we moved here last week" edwin said, "we would have called you but you kind of–"
"yeah i know, i needed some time" ryan blushed, her eyes now focused on the floor beneath her.
"well we should probably head out now" nick said nothing the awkwardness.
"oh for sure" ryan nodded.
"unblock us and give us a call" austin teased making ryan genuinely laugh.
the boys all gave ryan a hug, well except zion who still hadn't said a word.
"zion" ryan called out to the boys.
zion turned his head, his face still as serious as before.
"it was nice seeing you again" ryan smiled.
"wish i could say the same" he sighed before making his way out the door to catch up with the boys.
ouch. that one hurt.
____________
"okay i'll say it, that was an asshole move z" brandon said.
the boys had now made their way back home and were huddled in the living room eating their food.
"what are you talking about?"
"wIsH i CoUlD sAy ThE sAmE" austin mocked zion's words to ryan.
"i wasn't gonna lie to her" zion rolled his eyes.
"nah you've done enough of that" nick laughed sarcastically.
"what's that supposed to mean?" zion asked, standing up and hovering over nick.
"woah, i think we gotta chill out" edwin quickly stood up and creating a barrier between the two.
now everyone stood on their feet, zion being held back by edwin, nick being held back by austin and brandon in the middle.
"we just got here and we need to be on our A-game for that meeting at capitol records tomorrow" brandon yelled over the bickering.
"then how about you guys choose me over ryan" zion yelled.
silence fell among the group.
"you'll always be our guy z" brandon said.
"but ryan didn't deserve what you did to her" nick rolled his eyes, taking his seat next you the table and continuing to eat his chicken sandwich.
___________
ryan laid in her bed after class, taking in everything this day had brought her. a knock fell onto her door.
"come in" she said loudly.
"hey ry, how was school?" jack asked taking a seat next to her on the bed.
"school was fine, as interesting as American Studies can get. i grabbed chick fil a before hand, oh yeah and i ran into zion and the guys" ryan laughed nonchalantly.
"WAIT, zion and the boys as in zion from washington?" jack jumped up
"ding ding, we have a winner"
"well have you tried to talk to them or something?" he questioned.
"i just finished unblocking all of their numbers and social media's. none of them seemed mad about my choice to block them, besides zion, but i still feel bad" she pursed her lips.
"don't be a pussy ry" johnson teased.
the boy had walked in mid conversation and leaned up against her doorframe, waiting for his moment.
"last time a jack made me do something it ended up slapping me in the face" ryan rolled her eyes and opened them wide to stare at jack.
"well let's take another risk" jack smiled handing her phone over to ryan.
here goes nothing. again....
