"that shit looks fucking gross" zion laughed as he watched his best friend down the glass of smoothie he made from meatloaf, caviar, and orange juice.

"a bets a bet and my momma ain't raise no bitch" nick said as he gagged.

the two boys had made a bet before playing a game of basketball, and the looser had to drink a smoothie made from whatever the winner choose.

"i told your ass you would loose so i don't know why you ain't listen to me" zion shrugged his shoulder.

"whatever, now hurry up and hook me up with that beat you made with brandon"

the two boys made their way downstairs to the basement where zion had his computer set up.

"have you thought about what you wanna do after we graduate high school?" zion asked nick.

"i wanna move to LA and dance as long as i can" nick smile at the thought.

"have you ever thought about going into music?" zion asked his friend.

"not really. i just like messin around with any beat i get from you and brandon" nick shrugged.

zion nodded off as nick began to freestyle to the beat playing off the computer. even if nick hadn't thought about it, zion had. he constantly thought about what he would do after he graduated high school. he knew college wasn't for him, and he really enjoyed making music.

"you gonna jump on?" nick asked his friend.

zion shook the thought out of his head and began free styling to the melody of the beat.

"you excited for your new school?" her mom asked.

"it's the fourth school in nine months mom, nothing to be nervous about when i won't be here longer than 3 months" ryan rolled her eyes.

"watch the attitude" her dad checked her.

"we told you before the move that we would stay here until you graduate in may honey" mom's sweet voice said.

"that's what you said three schools ago"

"ryan noel anthony i will not have anymore shit you say today, so watch the attitude" her dad now yelled from the front seat of the car.

in the last year, she had lived in 4 different states. it was a miracle she was even in school still. ryan constantly told her mom to just home school her, but her mom urged having a proper high school experience.

newsflash. you can't have a proper high school experience if you move every two or three months.

"i hope this army base has a playground as cool as the last one" lucas smiled from his seat besides his big sister.

ryan grinned at her brother's wish. she wished she could have the optimism he had. unfortunately, after all the friends she had lost and places she'd been, a playground couldn't fix all of that.

the twenty hour car drive from utah to washington state wasn't something that made moving easier either. but at least she wasn't driving.

in a couple of hours she would arrive to her temporary new home, sleep in her temporary new bed and then go to her temporary new school.

"home sweet home" ryan muttered lowly before drifting off to sleep.

______

"did you see her yet?" austin plopped down on the chair with the rest of the boys.

"see who?" edwin asked.

"the new girl! she moved in next to me yesterday with her dad, mom, and brother" austin took a bite of nick's muffin.

"i hope she's hot" nick said making the group laugh.

"my mom was talking to her dad this morning about riding to school together. she would have come with me today, but i guess he's a typically overprotective parent and wants to bring her today" austin shrugged.

the bell rang indicating the beginning of the school day. austin made his way to art class alone, brandon pulled nick and edwin to math, and zion walked him lonesome self to english literature. yay for senior year.

the airpods in his ears made it hard for him to hear anything. honestly, zion didn't really care. he hated school, he just needed a C to pass this class and get his diploma. after that, it was a one way road down to hollywood.

his mind suddenly stopped when he turned into his row and saw someone in his seat.

"you're in my seat" he groaned.

"what there's no more seats available?" she remarked.

"listen i'm not doing any of this playground shit. i've sat in this seat since august, if i don't sit here my football coach is gonna be on my ass so move now" he demanded.

ryan rolled her eyes and moved to the seat behind his.

"what a welcoming school" she rolled her eyes, placing her head on the desk.
