"i should probably start off by saying sorry" ryan said after a minute of silence.

"yeah me too" zion scratched the back of his head.

"me first. you see after the suspension i couldn't bring myself to say goodbye to any of you. i had finally found real friends and love in you, that i knew it wasn't going to be just another goodbye. then when i went back and i saw you with her like i had meant nothing, then i thought it was all just one sided so i didn't let you bring me down. i tried my best to let LA choose the life i wanted for so long and most of it was great but i always knew something was missing. then that day i saw you guys for the first time i felt whole again, even though we weren't talking. i felt whole because you were closer to me" ryan explained "then you had to make things complicated and be a total asshole and i guess i just didn't expected that from you but it's unfair of me to just assume that you'd be the same zion i left back in washington. so i'm sorry"

"wow, i wasn't expecting all that" zion giggled making ryan laugh. "i guess my turn. i want to apologize for the night of prom, i know we weren't together anymore so it shouldn't matter but that night the only person i wanted to see was you and when i couldn't have you, i let alcohol take over because at least i could see you then in my imagination. i called arielle, ryan like 5 times that night"

"anyways i swear i saw you in her at mcdonald's, that's why i was kissing her and why i went home with her. the next morning when i woke up i woke up next to her i damn near lost my mind. when i saw you at edwins house, it was like i had an answered prayer but then you wouldn't talk to me at all and what was i supposed to do? i never thought i'd see you again, so i tried getting over you and it was working for a little but then i saw you again and everything started coming back"

"i could never get over you... i tried but i just couldn't" ryan laughed.

"i mean you don't have to" zion suggested.

"yeah right, i am not getting back with you after one day of talking again." she rolled her eyes. "i'm a college student now, i've matured caleb"

"as long as you didn't change too much i think we'll be good ry" zion smiled.

the two remained engulfed in each others eyes with her hands in his, laughing about nonsense things.

"so you live with those guys now?" he asked.

"jack and jack? oh my gosh yes and they're the best. they do music too which means they get invited to the best parties" ryan explained. "but best of all they just look after me kind of like you and nick always did"

"so nothing going on between you guys?"

"not anymore, and i know that might be upsetting to hear but i had to try to get over you and he was there zion" she uttered.

"i slept with arielle, i don't think i'm allowed to get mad at you" he sighed.

ryan nodded her head looking down at her phone noticing a missed call from her job.

"oh shoot i gotta go, i'll text you later though okay?" she asked as zion nodded opening the door for her to lead her out.

ryan zoomed off in her car waving bye to the boys.

"so?? what did you guys talk about" edwin cheesed.

"she's not over me like i'm not over here" zion shrugged his shoulders.

"so you're getting back together?" brandon questioned.

"nah, one step at a time"

"good morning miss anderson" mr. crowell said as ryan ran into the office.

"good morning sir, i apologize for being late i didn't realize i was in today" ryan wiped the sweat off her forehead.

"oh you weren't scheduled but i realized i had a meeting and i needed you in today" he waved her off.

"so who's the artist?"

"they're new actually, they got their contracts last week so it'll be a standard meeting" her boss explained.

"prettymuch" ryan read off the contract.

after an hour of organizing and cleaning. ryan took a seat in an empty chair within the office waiting for the group.

"hello is anyone here?" a familiar voice asked from down the hall.

"aussie" ryan cheered giving him a hug, "what are you guys doing here?"

"we have a meeting" brandon explained. "remember we told you we were going to start doing music?"

"the real question is what are you doing here?" nick rose his brow.

"i work here" she swiveled her body. "jack got me the job, when his manger needed a new assistant"

"and it works with your career right?" zion said.

"with business management, yeah it does" ryan smiled at the fact that he remembered although it was only one time.

"ah finally you're here" mr.crowell said walking in.

ryan took her seat behind her boss writing down important notes from the meeting. she caught zions eyes shift to her countless times during the conversation, but played it off like nothing.

"alright, ryan will show you out and i'll have her give you all your rehearsal information" the manager said before leaving the room.

"looks like we'll be in contact very often now" zion winked at ryan, making the other boys roll their eyes.

"pipe down caleb, don't make me smack you now" ryan rolled her eyes.

"wow so aggressive, here i thought you were the same ryry" edwin teased.

"yeah but she's still lovely" zion smirked.
