v.
YOU GAVE ME COMFORT

ateez; YEOSANG

THE TALENT SHOW WAS GOING TO BEGIN. Each year it was held to showcase the talent of the students of said school. Admittedly, it was a hit or miss when it came to participates, but the staff always stuck with the tradition.

(Y/N) was not a contestant. She thanked whoever was up above for that. Not one to sing, dance, or have any talent, she preferred to sit down at this event. What was she suppose to show off : her grades? —they weren't impressive anyway. Luckily, no one was forced to go up on stage to perform, only those who voluntarily chose to.

The student body had been seated in the auditorium. Each student who were audience members were seated on the red chairs. The teachers stood around them, inspecting anything and everything the alum did. There wasn't even much chaos to spot, all the students enjoyed watching the show. They were either going to piss themselves with laughter or smile in astonishment. (Y/N) too had those reactions, although she did feel guilty when she giggled at the participants, but to her defense some people were really bad.

Flinching when the speaker announced the commencement of the show, she focused her attention on the stage. With the lights switching off and the shushing of those who continued to talk — the show began.

The first performance was of a freestyle rap which stunned the crowd. It was perfectly said; diction clear as day. Next, a group of girls danced and it was the best thing she had seen. After them was a boy who did some really bad magic tricks, causing the girl to hold her belly — it being filled with laughter. More and more acts went and (Y/N) was having an amazing time. This was so much better than actually attending class.

Wiping a tear away that cascaded down her cheek, the presenter informed the crowd that the upcoming performance would be the last one. The girl didn't want this to end. The comedian before was so funny, no one could stop laughing, she even felt like her she was going to pee herself. She sighed, hoping that the final act was going to be a memorable one.

FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STAGE A BOY CAME OUT. He had a pair of blue jeans on, a red hoodie and sneakers. He dressed more causal than the other contestants. Shifting her eyes to his face, the girl recognized him. They had English together. She thought he was going to do good though, after all he was a nice kid but awfully shy. Puzzled, she wondered how he even had the courage to go in-front of the whole school.

At the center of the stage, the boy held a microphone in his right hand. A spotlight shined onto his body, everyone's eyes were on him. With a viewable gulp, the boy shut his eyes and took a deep breathe.

"This is dedicated to the girl that I really like." He looked up and moved his eyes to the audience. Everyone awed at the statement. Heck, even (Y/N) wanted to know who it was. Was he going to confess to whoever the mystery girl was? She wanted to see.

Clearing his voice, he parted his lips and sang the tune.

Beautiful.

Light yet commanding of the room. Dramatic but not over down.

Continuously he sang, capturing the room. When the final note left his lips, the crowd applauded loudly. The girl was very pleased at the performance, although she was disappointed that she didn't catch the lyrics.

Noticing his eyes were trying to find the girl of his affection, (Y/N) smiled. She loved when people fell in love. She herself, didn't like anyone but she didn't want to. Love wasn't for her, however, she adored when others fell in love.

Following the gaze of the boy's, she looked to the left of her. Each time she caught the face of the person, she would look back to the boy and see how he reacted. A look of sorrow was held of his face. Knowing they had to keep searching, they went down her row until the person seated beside her was next. Whipping her head to see the boy. The girl felt confused. Why was he looking at her like that? They obviously still had to search the rest of the row. Furrowing her brows she glanced to her right to find that the people occupying the seats were all gazing at her. With eyes straight forward, the attendees all shifted their bodies to face her.

Throughly baffled, she peered up at the boy. He was still watching her, and she realized what had happened. He liked her. Oh shit!

Praying, hoping, believing that that wasn't true, the singer's voice rang through her ears.

"(Y/N), I have liked you for a very long time. I haven't felt this feeling for anyone and I just hope that you can give me a chance. Please, can you be my girlfriend?"

The girl sunk into her seat. This couldn't be happening. It was beyond embarrassing having people look at you with gleaming eyes, especially when her answer was a flat out no.

With a heavy heart, she shook her head, deeming her answer was opposing his feelings. She felt bad but she wasn't going to lie to him, he deserved the truth.

In the middle of shaking her head to let the boy know her precise answer, something was shoved into her body. With the discomfort, she gazed down to find the source but she wished she hadn't.

A gun was placed between her ribcage, a pain shooting through her stomach but fear beat the pain.

"Say yes." The voice spit out coldly. Frantically the girl shot her eyes across the place but luck wasn't on her side. Whereas she finally realized that no one in the audience was familiar. Not one person was her friend. Not one person was her teacher. Not one person could drop the weapon each of them held, all aiming straight at her.

A choked up sob escaped her lips. Lastly with a nod, she faced the smirking boy.

"Yes. I will be your girlfriend."
