CHAPTER 31

“Josh? Is that really you?” I said as I felt tears come into my eyes. I missed him so much, I missed my best friend, I missed how he would tell me he loves me and make me laugh even when I was sad. “Yes.” He said. I let the tears fall, I couldn’t hold it back anymore.

“What? Why? How?” I asked, he took a step toward me but I stepped back, even though he was my best friend I still can’t trust him, for all I know he could be working with my dad. “Can I come in, I will explain, I promise. They will catch my scent, please.” He begged.

I looked at his blue pleading eyes, and nodded and stepped away so he could come in. I closed the door and took a deep breath wiping away my tears. I pointed to a chair for him to sit. He sat down and took in a deep breath. “I don’t know where to start,” he said with a slight chuckle.

I sat down on one of the chairs opposite to him, not saying a word. “When you were taken, they sent me with a message for Martin,” he sighed. “they wanted something that your father took from them but when I told him everything seemed to go…different.”

“Your father is a lair, you can’t believe anything he says. He does not want you back, he wants to kill the Alpha of this pack as revenge for Ally, his love.” My heart literally stopped. What?! His love? Ally? Revenge? Liar?

Questions, unanswered questions popped into my head, what the hell was he talking about, my father was not in love with ally, he had his mate which is my mom, he loved her, right?

“What do you mean?” I asked, I couldn’t stop the question from coming out, I was completely shocked. It was as if I don’t even know my own family. “I mean that you father was in love with Ally. Remember when he banished her for beating your sister up?” he asked and I nodded.

“Well, all that time the two of them were…how do you put this…together.” He said. Oh my god, I have no words. My father was in love with ally, my childhood best friend? She and I were technically the same age. “When she became a rogue, and your father found out that she found her mate, he was heart-broken, he couldn’t stand the fact that someone else had her so he ambushed this pack using hunters in hopes of getting her back.”

He paused to take a shaky breath. “But when he found her she said that she didn’t want to go back with him and that how she loved her mate so he shot her six times. But she always had on this amulet, none of knew what she wore it for, all she said was that her mother gave it to her, which was true but her mother was a witch,”

“A powerful witch. She created the amulet in hopes of—” he was cut short of his sentence when the door bursts open. Elijah stood there sniffing the air, he had claw marks and blood on his body, and it was hurting me seeing him like this. “Rogue.” He growled.

In less than a second using inhuman speed Elijah had Josh pinned against the wall choking him. His face starting getting red, Elijah was killing him. “Stop!” I shouted running over to them. “He is a rogue!” Elijah growled, although I didn’t know that Josh was a rogue I couldn’t let him die because he had some answers to my unanswered questions.

“He is my friend Elijah.” I said resting my hand on Elijah’s wrist for him to let go. From the time I touched him, his tense body relaxed a little, even though he was weary of the decision of having a rogue in the pack house, I think once he hears what Josh had to tell me he would be surprised.
