It's like you're trapped inside this dark black hole
With no way out.
Darkness
Is all around you,
And even though you can see the glimpse of light at the end of the pit,
You can't seem to reach it;
Can't seem to get to it.
You're not just trapped, but chained, you're held captive by the dullness.
You feel the chains around your neck, wrists and ankles,
And the worst part about it
is that no one else can see them.
You're living a nightmare
Every single day you're screaming "please wake me up, please."
But with no response.
You can't get out of bed,
Even if you want to,
You can't,
Because it has swollen you whole.
You're a hostage to your own mind and you have no control over it anymore.
The demons
That your mother used to scare you with when you were young, so you'd go to bed,
Aren't just fairy tales now
They're real,
And you can feel them creeping into you,
Feeding onto every single dream you had,
Feeding on your hopes,
And leaving you nothing
But dullness,
Darkness.
Everything is useless,
Just like you
You're nothing but a pointless, worthless and weak body,
That even your demons
Found nothing
To feed onto anymore
So they too,
Have left you alone to rot.
