I Told You So
"Halt in the name of his majesty Good King Eren!" I knew this voice and I thanked the heavens. With her, here I knew that everything would be okay. "And who do you think you are girlie," a nasally voice said in the crowd.
"Hmm let me think how about a powerful full breed witch with enough magic in my pinkie to destroy this horrid little town. So if you want to have a home to go to tonight I suggest you let the two girls go," she said.
No one made a move and some even laughed. "Please Arielle don't hurt anyone for out sake," my sister sobbed out. "Don't worry Arabella I'm not," Arielle said. Then with a snap of her fingers, the wolf men restraining us turned into toads and the crowd around us gasped as they felt themselves being thrown backwards.
"Now come on girls and let's get you guys home," she said smiling. While leaving the marketplace Arielle made casual conversation about how nice the day is and if our father was home yet. "Aren't you angry with us for coming to the market without protectors and almost getting ourselves killed?" I asked dumbfounded by her attitude about the whole situation.
"Now why would I be mad I'm not your mother and it seems you already realize how stupid your little stunt was Anna. Besides they wouldn't have killed that would be a waste. Your blood is much too valuable to let you just die there.
There are just too few purebloods left to be so wasteful. When are you going to get it through that thick skull of yours that you are desired and not in the good way? The blood that runs through you is pure nothing has soiled it unlike the hybrids who have mixed blood from generations of interbreeding of different species of supernatural's.
A single drop can save lives, drive vampires mad with blood lust, make werewolves immune to silver and wolfs bane, and give a spell that extra boast. There's just nothing else like it, only purebloods hold this sacred power, but your kind is so rare nowadays." Arielle states wearing a thin lipped smile.
Turning my gaze away from Arielle I look at my sister to see how she's holding up. Arabella looked awful she was trembling; her dressed ripped, and wore a tear stained face. I open my mouth to start an apology.
"Shut it Anna, I already know what you're going to say and I don't want to hear it. Are you happy now you finally got your thrill of independence even though it put both of us at risk? I'm sure you are and even throughout this whole thing we still didn't even get what we came for."
Arabella states with a glare in my direction. I knew I was going to get an earful when I got home and would probably never leave the house again until I died. Maybe they are right maybe I am selfish in my actions only thinking about my happiness and not others.
Is it wrong for me to wish for something more than what I already have and to not be scared that someone will hurt me for my blood? Maybe it is I do not know, but it just seems every time I take I step forward I'm pushed back three more
By the time, we made it back home I was sweating bullets and dreaded going inside because I knew I was going to be in big trouble. I just hoped father wasn't home yet I don't I can take two disappointed parents at the moment.
"Took you two long enough your father is already here. Peter the girls are back." I heard my mother scream from the kitchen as soon as we stepped in the door. Mother came out from the kitchen and suddenly stopped as soon as she saw us.
Then father came out of nowhere and was rendered speechless at our appearances. Take one look at our torn dresses and tear stained faces you knew that we had been attacked. My parents looked to be frozen as if they were under a spell.
Only when Arielle spoke, did it break and then they came back to life and jumped on my sister and me. "Their alright just a little shaken luckily I happened to be there and managed to stop those hybrids before they took any blood," Arielle said.
"Oh thank the mystics," my mother said as she breathed a sigh of relief. Father then proceeded to hug us and tell of how much love he had for us and that he wouldn't have known what to do if we never came home.
I thought I wasn't going to be in that much trouble because of their reactions only when they sent Arabella back to our room did I realize just how much trouble I was truly in.
"Well I can see that this conversation is about to take a very serious turn so I'll just excuse myself so I can strengthen the barrier around the house." Arielle said while hastily heading towards the back door.
I turned my attention back to the fuming parents in front of me, but unfortunately, not fast enough because my mothers hand came up then down across my face. My vision swan and my eyes started to water with tears. Never in my whole life had my parents hit me and I couldn't believe what just took place.
"I knew I just knew Peter that letting these girls out of this house was a mistake. This is what you wanted Anna are you happy now?" mother accused me while talking to father.
Then she raised her hand as if to slap me again luckily father caught her hand and whispered soothing words in her ear. Mother straightened herself back up and left the room to check on Arabella. "Are you alright Anna you're not hurt are you" father questioned.
"Yes daddy I'm fine just a little shaken but you know nothing can keep in me down," I said jokingly. "Alright now go clean yourself up and get ready for dinner." Father said.
"Oh and Anna well talk about this little fiasco more when Arielle leaves after dinner." Just by the tone of his voice, I knew it wasn't going to be pleasant.
Entering Arabella and my shared room, I looked to see my younger sister standing there in the middle of the floor. "Are you going to hit me next?" I asked her. "No, but I should," she replied back boldly.
"I just wanted you to know even though I don't agree with your point of view about our life I get where your coming from and I forgive you about what took place in the market." Typical Arabella always showing how beautiful she was inside and out and making me feel like the bad guy once again.
"Thank you Arabella for forgiving me and I want you to know how truly sorry I am for putting you in that kind of situation. Also tell mother and father that I won't join you guys for dinner." I tell her. "What's wrong are you feeling okay?" Arabella asks looking me from top to bottom.
"No I'm fine, I just know mother is furious and I rather not risk another slap across the face," I say. Arabella shoots me a sympathetic look while heading out the door. Sitting down at the vanity father built for us, I gaze at myself in the mirror.
I was a pretty plain looking girl especially when compared to my sister. I had tree bark brown shoulder length hair, dull green eyes unlike my father's vibrant ones and I was very tan from all my days daydreaming out in the sun. My appearance was completely different from Arabella's perfect one.
