It is time to stop looking to the skies,
to the stars, to Mars, to everything way out from afar,
the focus now must be on what can be influenced,
what can be changed, the stage is there for the taking,
looking up gives perspective, but looking down allows us to be reflective,
find the middle ground, that is when a person can be most inflictive,
the motivation is there, in the eyes it stares, it glares,
no longer will we run and hide, this is the time, the years that have come before have been fine,
before the grind, the world didn't mind but now its ears have pricked and we won't be allowed to casually glide,
glide and coast, now it is time to give our most,
they will push us down now we are of age, enslaving us, our freedom the wage,
break the shackles, the older generations can no longer tell us what should be, who we should be,
they think us snowflakes, pieces of kelp swarming the ocean floor, rock bottom and in need of help,
but we spit it back, the world is ours now,
ours to take and ours to make; for our own sake,
so let us embrace this imagery, kelp the coat of arms, our badge of honour through it all,
we will stamp it on every wall, ingrain it in the soil through our sweat and toil,
kelp will be the word shouted from the rooftops when all the pain and division halts.
