"Sir, we cannot recruit her! The only opening we have is in the counselling department and she just isn't capable of-" The stout man in the grey suit trailed off.

The executive looked at me, slightly tilting his head. I made firm eye contact with him, trying as hard as I could to maintain a confident body language. Harleen had told me how much the body language mattered in job interviews.

"Please, Sir. It's been six months since I graduated and I-"

"Still haven't found a job?" He asked.

I lowered my eyes in shame, biting my lip. Who was I kidding? I ain't Harleen. I can't maintain a confident body language while the inflated potato intimidated me.

"Nothing to be ashamed about. I was jobless for a whole year till I got recruited into this company." He laughed.

I slowly raised my eyes to look up at him.

"I see myself in you. And I will do what Mr Chandra did." He smiled, his eyes shining.

The other stout company executive looked aside, mumbling something to himself. I looked at Mr Dixit earnestly.

"You will have training for three months. If you secure one of the top three ranks by the end of three months, I will recruit you in our development team." He told me sternly.

My eyes lit up with a strange happiness.

"Really? You would do that for me?"

"Well, you have to do that for yourself. If you fail, you will have to continue with your job hunt."

Mr Dixit looked at the other executive.

"Thank you, Mr Dubey." He snorted.

"Thank you so much, Mr Dixit!" I squealed.

"All the best, Miss Desai. I look forward to having you on my development team." He gave a warm smile, extending his hand. I shook hands with him, secretly hoping that my grip wasn't too loose or too tight.

"I look forward to working with you, too, Mr Dixit." I smiled as I gathered my belongings.

With that, I walked out of the door.

The golden days seem to have arrived at long last.
