He was awoken from his slumber by an incessant ringing coming from his phone. With a groan, he turned to his side table and silenced the call, figuring he needed an extra hour or two of sleep. With not a moment more, the phone rang again. Jungkook sighed as he sat up, grabbing the phone and answering the call without looking at the caller ID.
"Yes?" Jungkook said, his voice groggy and annoyed.
"Don't tell me your still sleeping." Jin said.
"Should I not be?" Jungkook questioned, opening his eyes slowly.
"Do you have any idea what time it is, Jungkook?" Jin spoke through the receiver.
"Uh, No..?" He replied, figuring it would be as good a time as any to pull back the phone and check it. At the numbers that shone back to him, he gasped and jolted out of his bed and ran to the bathroom to get ready.
"Shit hyung, I didn't know it was that late. What am I gonna do?" Jungkook breathed out.
"It's ok, just head straight to the prison. You can come by the company after you're done, I have everything good here." Jin reassured.
"Okay okay, thank you so much." Jungkook said.
"Yes, of course. I'll let you go so you can get ready." Jin spoke, hanging up the phone.
The call ending allowed Jungkook to focus only on getting ready, it took about 10 minutes until he was out the door hopping into his car and speeding away to the prison.
He pulled into a parking spot and ran inside the orange building. Eunji looked up in surprise at his haste, but quickly rearranged her face into a smile, "Nice to see you again, Mr. Jeon. And here I thought you weren't coming. I'll check you in."
"Thanks." Jungkook said through pants. He walked over to the coffee station and made himself some coffee seeing as he had no time to make some of his own at his house. He walked inside the visiting room, and sat at the normal table he always did.
He was staring at his coffee and wondered what was taking so long since his dad is normally out right away. He figured the coffee was cool enough so he raised it to his lips, blocking his view of the door.
Just before some of the coffee fell into his mouth he heard, "Ah ah ah, I'd be careful if I were you, baby boy. The coffee around here is a bit hotter than your usual stuff."
Jungkook froze, staring at the ceiling. He couldn't believe his ears. No way was Kim Namjoon sitting here talking to him. He took a deep breath and lowered the cup, staring into the dark eyes that he saw everyday for a year back in high school.
Tightening his jaw, he replied, "What are you doing here? Where's my dad?"
At this, the corner of Namjoon's mouth quirks up, "That's it? Those are the first words you're gonna say to me after all these years?"
Jungkook tightened his grip on his coffee, "Don't act like you deserve anything better from me, Namjoon."
Namjoon's smile gets bigger at his words, "Oh but baby, you know we had a good time." He reaches his hand out to touch his jaw, saying "Don't grit your teeth so hard, we don't want you hurting yourself."
Jungkook slaps his hand away, grabbing his wrist and pulling him up from the seat and pushing his back against the table.
Namjoon's eyes widen a bit, but he quickly levels his expression into something more sultry with a hint of teasing when he replies, "Are you gonna buy me dinner first or?"
"Cut the crap, Namjoon. I wouldn't mess with me. I could buy everything around you and you yourself if I wanted to." Jungkook spits in his face, drilling his eyes hard into Namjoon's own.
