Bright POV
"Do you fancy going furniture shopping?" he asks I nod and we get back in the car.
"I have the dimensions of each room in my phone" I tell him. "Do you like Out The Door?" I ask him and he nods so I drive there. We start looking around for the bed first and find a queen size bed that we both like. It's a four-poster pine bed that you can add netting too if you want.
We get the bed and a white netting set. I spot some bedside cabinets and point them out to Lance. He looks them over and nods so we buy them too. Lance sees a two-seater love sofa in a pale green "that would go perfectly in front of the window in the bedroom" he suggests I can picture it there so agree.
We pick a light grey leather sectional sofa that two of the seats can change into lounges with a pull of lever making it into a huge bed. Lance picks out some throw pillows that will look good with it. "Your table will look good with it" he tells me and I agree with him.
We decide that the desk I use as a work desk will also do for the far corner of the sitting room. I spot some square shelving and ask Lance for his opinion as I think they would look good above the desk. He agrees and we buy 6 of them of different sizes and in prime colours.
We also buy some bedding in pale greens and Lance see's some good throw rugs one for the bedroom and one for the sitting room. "Whose, bed should we use for the spare room?" he asks "I bought a new mattress not so long ago but I like your frame better" I tell him "alright your mattress and my frame.
I like my bedside cabinets better than yours as you have tables only" he says and I agree.
"Are you going to put your condo up for sale?" he asks "I think I'll rent it to student's as it will be a good investment" Lance replies
"Yes, Dad wants me to do the same. I'll go and buy some cheap furniture to replace what we've taken" I say. We stop for some lunch "what kind of window coverings do you like?" Lance asks me "the minimum fuss kind, like blinds."
He nods "me too they can just be wiped down and dusted. Will you be alright if I order them online?" he asks and I nod "neither of our dining tables are big enough for the condo. I like butcher tables or simple wooden tables" I tell him.
"We can take our time with that as we do have the breakfast bar for now. We can just buy a couple of stools for now" he suggests.
I click my fingers as I remember seeing some online. I pull out my phone and find them. "Do you like these, they come in all primary colours, but I really like the red seat with chrome stand" I tell him.
He agrees and I order them "we have done really well. Just have to be there for the delivery tomorrow. If we go home now, we can get some packing boxes on the way home and pack the essentials first.
Then stay in the new place tomorrow before we pack up the rest" I say.
Lance smiles "I'd like that it's like the start of the new stage in our adult working life" he says. I take his hand and we head back to the condo. Stopping for some packing boxes. I help Lance first, pack his stuff like towels, clothes, bedding, pots and kitchen stuff.
He then comes and helps me. My place is a little easier as I didn't really cook much here as there was to many food stalls close and convenient food. I have far more books than him though and camera stuff. I decide to pack up my desk as well that goes into a flat pack. Lance puts the screws in a small zip lock bag and writes desk on it before taping it the back of the desktop.
All the boxes we have packed he has written a list of what is inside. We finish and Lance says he'll cook us burgers so we cook together and eat on the balcony. We both email the building management telling them we will be moving out and renting the condo's to students next term.
