Chapter 22

 Final chapter

Bright POV

1 year later

We are back in America for our wedding. Yes, we are getting married all my family are here as well. 

Dennis and Dad are even thinking of tying the knot.  Maire splits her time between here and Thailand now.  With my brothers splitting their time between Thailand and here.  

P' Mount volunteers at a free clinic while here and P' Ai is a part time teacher at a local college. 

Lance has done really well and is now head researcher looking into sustainable planet-based foods. He has already found a way to make seeds hold water better.  

I don't understand the ins and outs but it is a big thing and he won many scientific awards for the break through.  I travel all over Thailand doing photo shoots and taking pictures for my next book. 

The assignment, I put in for graduation was put forward for an award and did really well. Before our honeymoon, I have a two-day shoot for Tommy Hilfiger and his underwear models. 

Lance is coming with me, then we fly out to a small island off of Greece for our honeymoon.  We are really happy and planning for our future gives us both a sense of pride and joy.

Cody was sent to prison for four years.  As he never admitted his guilt or showed any remorse at what he'd done. The pictures of Lance's broken arm and his swollen blue hand that was taken before his first surgery was enough, but the second set of pictures showing his broken ribs and collapsed lung after the second attack was the nail that sealed his fate.  

When the judge read out his sentencing Cody jumped up and started to swear and threaten Lance.  The judge shuck his head and added that he was not eligible for parole, so he has to serve the full 4 years and if he causes trouble inside more time will be added.

Lance felt bad but, I told him it was his choice to do what he did so he has to live with the consequences. We have made real homes, from both of our condo's here and back in Thailand.

The walls are covered in pictures of our family and friends. We spent a week with everyone this summer and had a great time. Maire is even thinking of having another child or two which would be sweet, but would make Lance and I a half brother as well as an uncle. Strange but we'll make it work. 

"Hey Love you ready?" Lance asks walking into the room. 

"Wow! You look great" I tell him he has a grey suit on and blue tie while I'm wearing a suit the same colour as his tie and a grey tie the same colour as his suit. 

"You look good enough to eat" he tells me. "Thanks, should we go?" I ask a little nervous now. 

He holds out his hand for me to take and we walk out of our room and walk to the reception room here at the hotel where we are holding the wedding.  We had thought a small wedding on the beach at his Mum's but our friends said they all wanted to be here so we had to move it here.  

We hear P' Ai announce us and walk into the room and down the front with everyone clapping.

Dennis got the qualifications to marry us and stands on the stage waiting. Maire is already wiping tears from her eyes and Dad looks close to crying too. 

When we step up onto the stage people go quiet. "We are here today to witness the union between P' Lance and P' Bright they have made their own vows so P' Bright if you'd like to say yours" Dennis asks. 

I clear my throat "I knew that P' Lance was special when I found a bag of my clothes that had been freshly washed and ironed after being blown from my balcony hanging from my front door.  

When I got to know him during a difficult time in his life. I found that he was beautiful inside and out. He showed me a strength that was gentle and loving at the same time. 

The first time we kissed my first thought was, I'm never letting go. He has given me his heart to hold and keep safe so, I want to show him by caring for him for the rest of my life that his trust in me was not mistaken. I will love you fully, whole heartedly with everything I am. Through all the good and bad times. I love you so much" I finish.  

Lance squeezes my hand blinking away his tears. "Lance your turn" Dennis prompt's 

"P' Bright you shine brighter than the sun. A look from you can have me smiling for the rest of the day.  When your warm hand takes mine, I feel we can conquer anything as long as we are together.   When we first met, I thought pity he isn't gay, he's gorgeous. 

Then we came together and you told me that you were Lance sexual and I decided then and there that you were a keeper that, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. Thank you, for being you. Thank you, for loving me. But most of all thank you, for letting me be me and walking beside me. I love you so very much" he finishes

I wipe the tears from my cheeks and his.  We hear Dennis clear his throat and see him wiping tears from his eyes.  

"Do you P' Bright Apichart take P' Lance Devakul to be your wedded partner for sickness and in health, richer or poorer to death do you part?" Dennis asks "I do" I answer clearly. 

"Do you P' Lance Devakul take P' Bright Apichart to be your wedded partner for sickness and health, richer or poorer to death do you part?" "I do" Lance answers. 

"I now pronounce you husband and husband.  You may now kiss" Dennis says to cheers and clapping.  

I pull Lance to me and kiss him showing him my love and happiness of the moment.  We pull apart and I can see the desire in his eyes like I'm sure he can see mine. 

"You'll pay for that later" he whispers in my ear "looking forward to it" I whisper back. Looking forward to everything that our life together brings.
