Many years passed while the crew and Danny slept in cryo sleep. It was as they were drifting through a system far from their destination that they recieved a message from an unknown source. The ship's computer, nicknamed Mother, set out an alarm that started beeping, and opened the cryotanks of the crew members.

The first one up and about was Kane, whose first thought was 'Where is my coffee?' and he went to the kitchen to brew some. It was as he was doing this that the other crew members finally started waking up as well. They all met in the room adjacent to the kitchen and sat around the table, laughing and joking with each other as they went.

It was only after Captain Dallas had his first cup of coffee that Ash told him that Mother needed him to check out something on the computer. As he went to check the system, Brett and Parker went to check the maintence walk ways to make sure nothing had damaged them in their sleep, while Ripley and Lambert checked their location in space, to see how far they were from their destination.

Ash went to make sure that the medical bay was set up and Kane went to watch over everyone while Dallas was busy with Mother. As the stared out of the window into space, Ripley stated, "Thats not our system." Lambert rolled her eyes. "I know that." She sniped, growing more annoyed with Ripley by the moment.

Ripley hid a grin, even as Dallas called them all back into the meeting room to go over what he had learned.
"I know you all must have figured out they we are not in our system. That's because Mother recieved a distress beacon and she woke us up to go and investigate." This statement drew groans and complaints from the two engineers, until they were remineded that if they made a discovery, it would add a bonus onto their paychecks when they docked back on Earth.

While they all prepared to take their small boarding ship to the new planet, far below them in the bowels of the Nostromo, a cryotank hidden in a storage room slowly began to rock back and forth, releasing the cryo mist into the air.
