Chapter Twenty Six- New Directions

(NOTE- With permission from @Chat_Agreste, I have used his character. The character in question is Peter Twinleaf, a boy whose family founded Twinleaf that is located in the Sinnoh Region. Peter will be taking over Dawn as she will be recovering from the incident with her heart. Interesting fact about Peter has Heterochromia, a very rare genetic feature one can have where ones eyes can be different colours i.e left eye can be Brown while the right eye can be Blue. The infirmary wing

I open the doors to the infirmary wing to see for myself that what Gardevoir said was true, Dawn is in fact awake. She was sitting up in bed with Ash who was crying tears of joy, by her side as well as Blaze and Annabelle. Cecilia leans against the nearest wall with her husband by her side while Luke and Scarlet comforted their cousins. Johanna and Delia smile with joy to see the blue-haired woman alive with dad grinning like the goofball I remember he was when I was a child Bonnie and Sawyer sit by next to one another, overjoyed by Dawn's awakening. Gary see's me and pulls me close to him before planting a kiss on my cheek. Sylveon and Gardevoir smirk and whistle, causing me to blush a little. Chase and Paul snicker in amusement at my demise which made me glare at them in turn.

"Hey Ethan." Dawn greets with a soft smile.

"Hey sleeping beauty." I said teasingly, "Had a nice nap?" The Hielo Queen rolls her eyes and giggles.

"I sure have." She moves a little but winces. Ash freaks out a little.

"Careful Dawn." He pleads, "Y-You just woke up not to long ago!"

"I-I'm fine sweetie-"

"No Dawn." I can see Ash look at her seriously with a single tear down his face. "Please take it easy. If you need anything, I will be here. I will be your servant for as long as you are in bed and tend to your every need."

"W-Who are you and what happened to the Ash the goofball?" Dawn wonders amusingly, "He is never this suave and serious."

"Let's just say Ethan taught me a few things with his books and gentleman training."

"Like Ash can learn that on his own." Cecilia smirked.

"H-Hey!" Ash pouted.

"I-I'm sorry everyone..."

We all turn back to Dawn who had her head down, avoiding our gaze. 

"Because of me, so much has happened." She said. "I heard about the tournament being cancelled and the drama that happened in between. I'm so sorry for everything guys." She begins to whimper and sob.

"Dawn..." Gary and I said softly.

"I-It's not your fault mom." Annabelle assures her.

"It's the traitors fault!" Blaze adds, upset to see his mother so distraught, "Please don't blame yourself."

"B-But it is my fault!" Dawn lifts up her head, eyes showing guilt, anger and shame. Her aura was screaming despair, making me feel a little dizzy. "I-If I hadn't collapsed...If I didn't have this stupid heart condition...I ruined my husbands and his siblings chance of revenge...I'm so sorry..."

"Oh sweetheart." Johanna sits besides her daughter to comfort her. "You needn't blame yourself for that. Don't ever think that you are to blame."

"Your mothers right Dawn." Ash holds dawns hand. "You haven't done anything wrong. You are my light Dawn and my heart. If anyone is to blame then it should be me. I should've been there for you when you desperately need it, to pick you up, to support you. I'm such a lousy husband and you feeling the way you re now is the result of my neglect. I promise you Dawn that I will make things right."
