“So why an arranged marriage?” Manik questioned Nandini taking a sip from his latte mug.
It had been almost an hour since they had come there and by now they had finished discussing about stuff like what did they do for a living or where they lived. Both of them steered clear of family matters until now and that certainly did not mean that they had missed that about the latter. They could get that it was a touchy subject for the other person.
“To be completely honest, this is something that my parents want for me. It's not like they're pressuring me or anything but they have been pretty insistent about it for the past year. There was a point when I felt that maybe I should think of settling down and given that I wasn't involved with anyone for the last six months, it just seemed doable. I agreed to meet whomever they set me up and give it a fair try.” she explained her reason for agreeing to this. She wasn't being absolutely true but maybe sharing the about ugliness of her situation with her family was the kind of thing that could wait for if they decide to go forward with this.
