S.I.C is what I'm calling the "Settling In Chapters". This is a set of 5-6 chapters about Y/N just getting to completely know everything about her team, and introducing a few later-to-be-used routines. This is just because during the actual season it would be a bit odd to completely get to know someone while there are people out trying to kill you and your friends (this is just my personal opinion). This can also be a potential starting point to future dilemmas in season 2 or further on.
Although it may not seem like it, these chapters will be important (to some extent) later on.Another mention: I'm going through the book and changing Sensei Wu to Master Wu. It's been bugging me ever since chapter 5 or something lol
It is now 1 A.M. The ninja sneak back on to the Bounty after a long ride back from Disierra.
Jay had fallen asleep halfway through the ride and almost de-summoned his dragon so Nya had to take the responsibility of dragging him the rest of the way back.
Everyone almost instantly wanders into the room and drifts off into a slumber. All but Y/N, who is still a bit shaken up from previous affairs with Aro. She stays awake, watching the moon outside.
Y/N holds the clip in her hands, as occasional tears come down and slowly begin to soak up the accessory. She glances at her phone and sees the unread message from Aro.
Well, technically herself. But she wasn't the one who made the text, only the one who sent it.
So, yeah. The text message from Aro.
A shaky sigh emits from her lips, as she curls up into a tight ball outside on the Bounty's deck. She feels like that numb-ish feeling is coming back, but it feels different this time.
It's indescribable, but she knows it's not the normal feeling she'd sometimes get.
Y/N didn't exactly favor crying in front of her team, so now is a good time to just let out all emotions she's been hiding, yet she can't. For some reason, her mind is still bringing her back to when she couldn't move due to Aro's death.Though it's just her mind this time. Her mind can't get itself together.
Y/N shakes her head rapidly, forcing herself to stay awake. The last thing she wants is to have nightmares about tonight's events.
Master Wu walks out onto the deck. Knowing Y/N is here, he steps out to go and talk to her.
"You did well, Y/N. Even with minimal training and little preparations, you guys succeeded. I congratulate you on this." Master Wu speaks, forming a smile on his face.
Y/N spins around and returns the smile, but it soon transitions into a frown. "It doesn't feel right, being congratulated for having to kill someone. I mean, yeah, it was quite inevitable, but still.."
Wu nods in understanding. "Thinking of someone as an enemy you thought you could call a friend is in fact difficult. I could tell you and Aro had a close bond. Your team members, and even I myself have experienced similar mishaps. Troubling times like these, we must move on from."
"I know but I-I killed someone!"
"That is an act that should never be crossed over, but you cannot change the past. What's done is done, there's no altering that. When you stumble upon situations from the past, there is no use in meddling with those dilemmas. It will not change no matter how much you want it to "
Y/N tilts her head to the side. Is Master Wu trying to make her feel better or worse?? Oh well. She stands up, and with a nod, begins to walk past him.
"Tomorrow morning we leave for the monastery. You will finally get to see your new home."
The words "new home" bring a smile to Y/N's face. Despite everything that's happened, she seems to forget about it and only focus on what's happening now.
She remembers the day when she could barely call herself a part of the team. Look where she is now.
