~The Next Day~-May 2nd, Saturday-
~Miles' POV~
I walk in the nursery room my wife and I built together, that of which contained three crying and hungry babies. I go straight to my son, while my sleepy and disheveled wife goes to Natalyn first and picks her up, before heading over to Megan and picking her up. She doesn't like it when we tend to two and leave one crying, even if it's just for a few minutes. We don't want to do that in general but I mean, we are kinda out numbered here. We take our babies and set them in their big, three-seat-connected-high-chair, and we feed all three cereal.
And just like that, three loud crying mouths, turn into three quiet smacking mouths. My wife and I high five, and kiss. She tells me she's gonna shower, and I send her off with another kiss. And I sit and watch my triplets feast upon their little bowls of Cheerios, and I read their minds. And as expected, they were all thinking about the task at hand.
I laugh to myself, and I admire my seeds. They can be handfuls at times but, when all three are in sync, life is as easy as can be. Becoming a parent is never easy but, it is definitely all about the little moments. Seeing them go from grabbing all Willy-nilly to learning on how to use the pincher technique. Seeing them go from crawling to cruising.
From babbling to calling out 'mama' and 'dada'. Watch, I'll even test it out now. I see they're almost done eating and I disappear around the corner. I wait and listen, and before long I start to hear one fussing. Just then, "dada!" I hear that one yell, and then, "dada!" Another one yells, and of course, "Dada! Dada! Dada!" They all start chanting, and I can't help but laugh and come out. I make them laugh with my laughing, and I pinch each of their little cheeks.
Just then, I hear a knock from the front door. I answer it, seeing that it's my brother. "What's up man?" I say, and I initiate our handshake. "Nothing bro, just seen my nephew and nieces are awake with you and I wanted to see you guys and help out." He responds, and he finishes our hand shake perfectly. My heart warms, "Aww, thanks man. Where's Janey? With Lauren?" I ask him, and he nods while he follows the sound of my kids babbling in the dinning room.
And when my kids see him, all three light up like crackable glow sticks. He takes a dry Cheerio, holds it up in front of each of them, and throws it up right front of them, and catches it in his mouth. And they burst into laughter, all four of them. Making me laugh and smile. I read my babies minds and of course, their all thinking about my brother. And oddly, they all are thinking about calling him . . . 'Coley?' And eventually, one of them does, leading to the next one doing the same, and of course, leading to the next.
"Why do my babies wanna call you Coley?" I ask him, and he gives me this half smirk and a shrug. And I just read his mind to find out, "You taught them to? Why?" I ask, solely just curious. "Because, uncle Willy is just something I do not wanna be called. So I taught them uncle Coley. Just like I did with Junie and like I will with the twins." He explains, and I read his mind again to confirm if he really did. And I read more then I wanted to. I gasp, dropping the box of Cheerios I was trying to put away.
He straightens up, and realizes I read his mind and saw a glimpse of what apparently is the future. Freckles and blue eyes. "You're fuckin kidding me William." I say, literally in shock. "That's what you actually came over for Huh? So I'd read your mind and you wouldn't be the only one with this on your shoulders?" I ask him, and he makes a 'half-and-half' gesture. "You know you gotta let him know right?" I tell him, and my heart grows heavy for my sister and even heavier for my brother-in-law.
