—a young agent
rain was everywhere, pooling into the dips in the asphalt streets, glistening at the dark orangey sunset that reflected off the wet roads. some of the water dripped down into the cast iron street gutters. the sky was dark, the clouds were crying, the winds were howling, as if someone did them wrong, like the winds were grieving with the dark clouds that littered the sky. they were occasionally blocking the sun, casting dark shadows to the people in the city. the once small gusts of winds were only growing stronger as they blew past the unfortunate people holding umbrellas while they walked the sidewalks to hopefully get to their sheltered destination.
they couldn't tell, but the sun was beginning to set. the thick clouds were hiding the usual pink and orange hues of the sunset. the sky slowly, but surely darkened while the rain continued to mercilessly beat down on the cars, buildings and groups of people. but sure enough, the streets were finally empty of people walking the sidewalks, only few cars drove by as the hours got later.
jeon jungkook sat in his office, another late day at work. crime never sleeps, so neither does he. he works as an fbi agent and these days he rarely catches a break. especially with the new sub branch of fbi he was put in charge of. this branch was called the scouts and it was formed to catch one, very dangerous criminal that continued to roam the streets in silence. and his name was park jimin.
park jimin has been 'on the loose' for the past few years, supposedly committing crimes of theft, property damages, and don't even bother to count the never ending murder charges, the crimes they were really in it to catch him for. it was like a new case was linked to park jimin every single day and because of this jungkook spends his days and sleepless nights in his office.
this time jungkook had the not so thrilling company of min yoongi, who was a leader of a sub unit in the scouts. he was sat in one of the extra chairs in the room while jungkook remained behind his desk, looking over the park jimin case files. there wasn't much information on the criminal to jungkook's dismay.
"we'll never get a lead on him," jungkook hung his head in his hands, while he stared at the black marble of his desktop. thunder boomed throughout the air, while flashes of lightning crackled in the dark night.
"i don't know how else to help you, the patrol is hardly working," yoongi said. he leaned back in his chair, his arms folded over his chest, while he watched the younger in his frustrations. "sending us out to patrol has done nothing but wasted our time that could've been used to collaborate with brilliant minds to catch this fiend. we still know hardly a thing about him."
"besides the fact that he likes to gruesomely murder... and he's involved in the human trafficking—"
"no, don't say that, we don't know for sure, don't assume the worst," young interrupted immediately. "as far as concrete evidence goes, we only know of the brothers: kim seokjin and kim taehyung."
"don't assume the worst about korea's most wanted criminal? his bounty is high, the people don't care what he's locked up for, as long as he behind prison's bars. we have no other information besides what we can assume, it's better to keep it an idea than to dismiss it before it's even revealed..." jungkook mumbled, while his tired, drooping eyes settled on the light of his computer screen. besides yoongi's never ending nagging, the bright light kept him awake... along with the several cups of coffee he had to try and maintain his active mind. "plus... all of the rumors—"
"are you really an idiot to start bringing up rumors as evidence? what kind of fbi agents take rumors and believe them as facts?" yoongi's tone raised slightly, causing jungkook's eyebrows to raise as if saying 'alright i'm awake.'
