I wasn't sure on what exactly what we are, but I think mattia and I are together. I mean, I hope we are, you know?
I mean, things were going good now! She was out of my way, the other other one is too. If anything, I'm getting good at this whole dating your best friend thing. Well, when mattia and I do get together, then I'll be good at it.
Does he even wanna be with me? I mean, yeah, he did come out to his dad, he did break up with his girlfriend but, he said we'll figure it out. What does that even mean? Figure what out? We got the basics down, I thought that's how a relationship works:
1. Develop a crush 2. Tell them you like them 3. Be with them 4. Live happily ever after
Why was this more complicated than that? I guess it was partially my fault, still believing the 4 step to having a girlfriend, well boyfriend now, but you get it.
"I thought I never would have seen the day. Mattia and Kairi, gay, for eachother!" I groaned and looked up at the one and only, Rebound. Robert Georges.
"Sorry? Who are you? Right, a rebound so shut the fuck up." Robert gasped, holding his chest. "I come back from vacation, and you treat me with such disrespect. Ugh, the audacity of you small fuckers. Go say the N word again!"
I stuck the middle finger up, immediately putting it down, as Robert tried breaking it. "Ow, ow, ow, ok, ok, ok, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, hi Robert I missed your big nose self."
Robert rolled his eyes, sitting on the desk chair, throwing a tiny football in the air. "What'd I miss?" He simply asked, and it just occurred to me, Robert doesn't know anything, other than what was being said on the gc, and tiktok room.
"Oh nothing much-" "liar." "You didn't let me finish, damn you rebound." He threw the ball at my face, smirking when it hit me on my cheek. "Motherfuck-" I tackled him onto the ground, "shit head!"
He covered his face, "get off me you whore!" "Sup Kai-What the hell going on?" Robert and I both looked up, "Oh hey Mattia, get your boyfriend off of me." Robert said, face still covered. I was about to hit him again, but fate had other plans, and mattia had pulled me off Robert.
"I'm surprised honestly Robert. How did you not snap in half? After all you are a stick." Robert groaned, "Hey Mattia, damn haven't seen you in 2 months, crazy I know, missed you too, yeah it was great. Why can't y'all ever greet me with respect?"
Mattia looked at me, and I looked up at Mattia before laughing, making Robert sigh. "I need new friends." Mattia, smiled at him, sitting on my bed, pulling me next to him.
"I was kidding robert, tell me about your trip, was it fun? Did everyone love seeing the big nosed monkey?" He joked, making Robert gasp. "I fucking despise both of you so much right now."
But nonetheless, he smiled, and told us about his trip.
I couldn't focus. Not with mattia by my side, not with his arm wrapped around my torso, his thumb grazing the side of my waist. It made my heart flutter, in ways I didn't know it could, especially it being from him.
The person who rejected me, said he couldn't love me like that, yet here we are, together. But maybe, I mean, maybe he was just acting like he likes me...

"Shit! I just remembered, Maiya's coming back today. I-I gotta go.." I stood up abruptly. "Kairi, I may not be smart, as y'all say I'm not, but this is your house." Robert stated, his eyebrows raised.
I looked around, and yeah, it was. "I meant I have to go get her. Duh." Grabbing my car keys. "Hey, I'll go with you-" "mattia you stay, it'll be like a surprise or something I don't know you're her favorite. Robert you come with me, bye Mattia!" Before he could say anything, I was already out my room, with Robert's wrist in my hand.
When I finally gotten in my car, Robert looked at me. "I don't think mattia likes me." I stated simply, and for some reason, Robert laughed. "I know you did not just say that kai. I'm not the best at relationships, but what I am good at, is seeing when two people are in love. And that's you and big boy Matti."
I sighed, "I guess. But, you don't understand really..." and so, I told him what he missed. The deal, the rejection, the kiss. Everything, I told him everything. "You liked him since 8th grade? Honestly, I feel bad for you. And papa polibio homophobic, man, I can't believe that honestly. Look, Kairi, talk to him about. Don't keep that to yourself, or you know you will be nothing but doubtful in this relationship."
I texted Maiya I was in front of our grandma's house, "You know Robert? Any girl would be lucky to have you, just get nose surgery." He shook his head, "I hope I'd find me a nice gal. Who wouldn't tell me to get nose surgery."
"Hi Kairi! Hi Robert! Oh my gosh I have a lot to tell you." I looked at Robert, and he shrugged. It really was gonna be a long 10 minute drive.
