Summary: As they ran and ran, the sounds of crashes and bangs seemed to fade out. Keeping their guard up, they walked down the tunnel to conserve energy. The walked for what felt like hours until faintly, a small light seemed to be at the end of it. Slowly, it began to grow larger and larger until they reached the exit. It had been a heavily secluded area with a pond, and abandoned hut, and vines draping over a cave. They escaped...but a sickening feeling told them they wouldn't be safe for long.

After gawking at the peaceful scenery around us, we immediately rushed inside of the small abandoned hut. For as cramped as it was, it was relatively comfortable. Cozy, even. Remy was quick to shut the door, suffocating us with the slight fear and anticipation of that monster finding us. The silence took control over the hut for what seemed like forever before we decided to temporarily let our guard down. The sanctuary this place had held wouldn't last for very long. Everyone knew that. Letting out a large sigh, Remy backed away from the door to look at Roman's hands. Curses would spew from his mouth as he'd flinch and try to move away.

"Fucking hell! Please be-, fuck, a little gentle?" He cried out as Remy attempted to clean the wound as much as he could with very little supplies.

"Well maybe if you guys weren't such dumbasses we wouldn't be having this problem!"

"The hell's that supposed to mean?!"

"I don't fucking know! What I do know was that I was right! I told you guys we shouldn't have come here or bought this place because it seemed sketchy!"

"It's not sketchy!"

"Really?! Then explain what the hell that was! Why in the flying fuck is your brother's shit here, huh? What the fuck were you guys doing when you left the lab yesterday?! Why the hell was this place so cheap and abandoned for so long?!" Everyone went silent. Remy was livid. More then livid...more like seething. Steam could be seen practically coming out of his ears. He was fuming a hot red. So much so that he could rival Hot Cheetos.

"Well? Logan, Roman? Are either one of you going to answer my fucking question?" Still silent, Roman and I looked at each other for a brief moment. I can't continue to break their trust.

"Yesterday...when we got in through the gates I saw purple eyes-"

"What the fuck." Remy interrupted, his voice a mixture of disapproval, judgement. As if he already knew where the story was going. All of it, thick and heavy as he stood up and started walking off, shaking his head.

"Anyway...I saw the purple eyes and something told me to investigate them. So I brought Roman with me to record everything that had happened. We came across a creature near a river." I huffed out, remembering yesterday's events clearly.

"He stared at the two of us with curiosity. He had no intention of hurting us.. most likely because we had no intention of hurting him. He walked across the rushing river with ease, using his long, sharp, black limbs to cross. His eyes were fixated on mine as he got closer. Once he did he was practically a cat." The room was filled with a deafening silence as I continued on with our story.

"Then there was another creature in the bushes. Quickly, he used his... ability...to keep Roman and I safe. He scared off whatever it was that was there. We debated on whether or not we should let him stay with us-"

"Hell no!" Remy shouted as he turned quickly on his heels.

"-but...when we got to the door and unlocked it, he started whimpering and he ran off because of that thing back at the laboratory... However, the next morning, a few hours after midnight, a creature came in to attack us. He was going after Roman and I before he came back and scared the creature off." I whisper, the memories of a just hours ago still vivid. The cramped hut was silent once more as the sounds of crickets and frogs could be heard around the pond outside.

"In any normal situation I would lecture the fuck out of the both of you. First of all, I was right. I told you guys we shouldn't have come here. I knew from the beginning, something told me this wasn't a good idea! And none of you listened. You never listen!" Remy shouted, cheeks giving off a blazing red color.

"Did you know that every time, every damn time...that I've said, 'guys, this isn't a good idea,' or, 'I'm not sure about this'... something bad has happened right? Logan, for as smart as you are, you can be a real dumbass. Roman, I have some exceptions for you, but still." Remy sighed as he rubbed at his temples, stress lines obvious against his forehead.

"How long before that thing finds us? Do any of you know?" Remy asked as his eyes closed.

"No..." Roman whispered under his breath.

"From what I can guess, it won't take it long to find us. We need to search the hut and the surrounding area for supplies. We might be able to stay the night but one of us needs to keep watch and be aware for any noises, movements, or sudden changes in emotions or mental state." I responded, knowing the basis of what is to be expected. Of course, this can't be guaranteed.

"Is that all?" Thomas asked as he picked at his fingers.

"Unfortunately, no. We need to be aware of changes in light, gravity, heart rate, hallucinations, body temperature, anything repetitive, possibly camouflage. The list could go on and on. It's even more dangerous now that our safety zone had been compromised."

"Couldn't we just go back, grab a car, key card, and leave?" Thomas asked, the slightest sound of Hope and desperation in his voice.

"Sadly no. One, it's a death trap right now. We also don't know if the creature will stay at the laboratory. Not only that but the doors open and close too slow. To add to that, the cars and the gates make loud noises, which could attract unwanted attention." I spoke truthfully, not wanting to give Thomas false hope.

"So we'll just camp here for the night?" Roman asked as he seemingly stared off into space.

"It's our best option. Not unless someone has any better ideas." The room went quiet...it was clear what our decision was. No one needed to say anything. We were to stay in this confined space until we had an exit with proper supplies. The way to know for sure whether we make it out...is whether or not there's an exit to escape.
