Okay, I give up! I'm just gonna update whenever I feel like it!!!! Lolz, I love writing and I get a lot of ideas... P.S. This is the song that I imagined playing when they kissed in chapter eight. I'm cheesy, I know.
ALMA'S POV
"Hey Alma." Ruben says, walking up behind me in the much line.
"Hey." There are some people looking at us, but not as many as there probably will be once we sit at the same table.
"What's up?"
I roll my eyes and give my usual sarcastic remark. "The ceiling." He laughs. We get our lunches, and walk outside to lay together under a tree. "Kidding. Nothing much. What's up with you?"
"Same."
We chat for a couple of minutes, talking about everything under the sun.
"Ruben, dude. What chu doin over here with the nobody?" I jump at the sound of the voice, and the smile automatically falls off if my face. The school bully, Ethan Smith. He's got his little group of friends, and they decide to pick on everyone else.
"Who are you talking about?" Ruben asks, standing up.
"That ugly loser right there." He says, pointing at me. I fight not to let my tears spill. "I thought you were cooler than that."
Ruben smiles coldly. "I don't know who your calling an ugly loser, because the only person that I'm hanging out with is my beautiful girlfriend. It's possible that your talking about yourself, though I'm not hanging out with you."
Ethan's face gets red, like a kid throwing a tantntrum. I giggle. He turns on me. "B*tch, you think this is funny?"
"N-n-n-no." I stutter.
"That's what I thought." He turns back to Ruben, whom I can tell is pissed. I allow a small smile to creep onto my face. "So Ruben. What are you doing hanging out with a loser?"
"I told you. I'm only hanging out with my girlfriend. I don't ever want to hang out with you, you ash*le."
Ethan throws a messy punch, which Ruben easily dodges. Ruben hits Ethan with a very well-aimed punch to the face, causing Ethan stagger back.
Ruben holds a hand out to me, and I take it. He pulls me up, we grab our backpacks, and we walk away, completely forgetting about our lunches. I entwine our fingers, and then the bell rings. I peck him on the lips, say good bye, and we head to our separate classes.
