ONE MONTH LATER
(PROM IS ONE WEEK AWAY)

ALMA'S POV

"How about this one?" My mom asks, holding up a powder blue dress. I shake my head. She groans. "Alma, we have been at this for half an hour! Are you planning in picking a dress?"

"Mom, just be patient."  She groans. She hates shopping. "You know what? If you want to wait outside the store, I'll continue looking for a dress. I'll get you when I find one." She nods to me, and rushes out the of the store. I shake my head.

"May I help you?" Asks a sales clerk as she walks up to me.

"Actually, yes. I'm looking for a prom dress, but I don't know what color. I do want it long though, so that I don't have to wear heels." She nods, and motions for me to follow her.

"Hm, let's see, what is your color?" She mumbles, then looks at me. "Emerald green? Or maybe a pale blue..." She trails off, looking for a dress, asking for my size as she does.

I tell her, and she pulls out an emerald green strapless dress with sequins all down the front. "Its cute." I say. She hands it to me, and I go try it on. I pull it over my head, and walk out so that I can see myself in the mirrors.

"What do you think?" She asks.

"I like it, but I can't see myself actually wearing it at prom." I tell her. She nods. "I don't think that the sequins work. Maybe something without them?" She rushes off to find another dress.

"She's really nice." I mumble as I walk back into the changing stall am slip the dress off.

I walk out to go and find her, and almost run into her as I do. "Sorry!" She exclaims.

"Its okay."

She nods. "Alright, so I found three dresses that I thought might look good on you, none of them have sequins."

"Alright, well earlier I thought I saw one that I liked, so I'm going to g the grab that one." She nods and goes to put the dresses in the stall. After I grab the other dress, I walk over to the stall.

I try on, and reject, all four of them. One dipped to low in the cleavage area, two of them clung to me in the all the  wrong places, which even the sales clerk admitted. Then the last one was too short, it didn't cover my fett like I hoped my prom dress would do.
