Aurora's POV

We go back to the hotel room and I sit on the couch while Dean and Sam talk to Donatello. "It was a reflex. She didn't do it on purpose." Sam tells them. "Who cares if she didn't do it on purpose? She did it." Dean retaliates. "I mean, you don't see Cas smiting someone every time he got his teeth cleaned" Castiel got his teeth cleaned? "I'm right here you know." I speak out.

"Yeah, and what about the vanishing tattoo?" Dean asks. "An angel healing itself." Donatello responds. "Another reflex." Sam says. "Or maybe she doesn't want to be warded." Dean says, sounding annoyed. But I did want to be warded. I don't know why the tattoos healed. "Okay, look, yeah, Aurora is on the angel family tree. But we don't know if her angel DNA is stronger than her human DNA." He sighs. "I'm just saying, Aurora doesn't have to be like other angels. We can teach her not to be."

Dean scoffs. "Ah, the nature versus nurture conundrum." Donatello says as he pats both of the brothers. Dean looks at him strangely and Sam does too. "Hey." Protests Dean. "Dude." Says Sam annoyed. "Oh" Donatello takes his hands off of the two. "Speaking not as a prophet but as a scientist, I don't think teaching her is in the cards." Dean looks at Sam who looks at Donatello. "It's like asking a lion not to be a lion." I am not a lion.

"But this isn't a lion! This is a human!" Sam kind of whisper-yells. "With a strong dose of God juice." Donatello adds. Dean seems to explode. He seems angry. "Okay. That's it. I'm done, all right? Cause she's not God, she's not Cas..." I don't want to be here. The motel room disappears. I think I feel something on my back move with a woosh, like I'd hear when I was with Cas.

I'm suddenly in what I think is an alley. The walls are narrow and blue. I find a box thing and it sit on it cross-legged. I don't think Sam and Dean and Donatello want me around anymore. I think of what my mother told me when I was still a part of her. "I love you Aurora. I love you so much." I can hear her like she's right here. I can hear my mother's laughter. I lean into the memory, closing my eyes. "You are gonna be amazing." That's what she used to tell me. For a moment I see a man with swept back hair and a smirk on his face hugging Mother. That's strange, I've never remembered him before.

"Aurora." Interrupts my memory. I think it's Sam. I put my head in my arms, sniffing, trying to hold back tears. "Hey, bud. We uh, we've been looking for you." I look up at him, wiping my tears away. "I'm sorry. I...everyone was so angry." Sam looks at me with what I think is kindness in his voice. It's soft. Comforting. "I suppose you wanted to get away from it." He suggests.

"And suddenly, I was." I tell him. "I'll tell you what. You have some special skills, Aurora. That's for sure." Sam tells me as he pulls up a similar box and sits down next to me. "We just need to make sure we get a grip on them, so...so you don't hurt anybody." He adds. Is that why Dean hates me? I don't want to hurt anyone.

"Is that why Dean hates me?" I ask aloud. I look at Sam. "Dean doesn't hate you..." he sighs. "Look, sometimes the wires in Dean's head get crossed and-and he gets frustrated, and then mixes frustration with anger, and fear." I looks at Sam confused. I would never hurt either of them, Castiel said to trust them. What is the need to be afraid? "Why would he be afraid?" I ask him.

"Because Dean feels like it's his job to protect everyone. And right now, we need to protect you." He sighs again. "But we also need to protect people from you." I don't understand. "Maybe I'm not worth all of this." I tell him. "Cas thinks so. So do I." He tells me.
