Sam's POV

I'm up and researching when I hear the coded knock on the door. "Come in." I call out. Donatello walks in. "Hey." I greet him. I hope Aurora didn't give the poor guy trouble last night. "Good morning." Donatello says with a smile. "How's Aurora?" I ask. "Uh, by the way, sorry to stick her with you. Things got a little tense here last night, so I figured it'd be better to have her stay in your room."

"It's not a big deal. She's an interesting kid." Donatello says, he rests his chin in his palm. "Yeah." I chuckle. "Yeah, that's an understatement." He straightens up. "Let-let me ask you...Do you have any idea how powerful she'll get to be?" That's a strange question. I pause for a moment. "I-I don't. No. But the lore says..." I pull up an article on my tablet. "Quote, A nephilim becomes more powerful than the angel who sired it. In this case we don't know the angel."

Though that would be extremely helpful right about now. I set down my tablet. "So..." "Does she know about her father?" Donatello asks. "No." I say with a sigh. "And she seems to be frustrated that she doesn't know and that everyone around her is asking her who he is." "So she is not bonded to the angel." Donatello states thoughtfully. No, you can't be bonded to someone you've never met.

"She seems to have a real attachment to her mom. I hope that means that she can be molded the right way." Donatello raises his eyebrows. "Hm, molded." He chuckles. I think he likes the idea of that. They both knock on the wooden table. "I hope you're right." Donatello says as he gets up to leave. "Yeah." I agree.

I get out my phone to call Dean right as he walks in the door with coffee and donuts. "Hey." He says as he closes the door. "Hey." I say back. "We should probably hit it." Dean says. "Uh, I was just about to call you, actually." Dean sets down the food on the table. We need to get on the same page. Um, look...We are going to be on the road a long time today. Right?" Dean sits down. "Yeah. Well, you know, we don't have to be cause your new friend could just zap us to the bunker like that." He snaps his fingers.

"The point is..." I sigh. "If you and I are going to do this, like Cas told us to, we have to be on the same page." I tell him. "Okay. Well, here's the problem, though, Sam, cause we're not on the same page. Like, at all." I sigh in frustration. "All right, you know what? I know what's going on here." Because he's been like this since Mom disappeared in the strange portal-like thing.

"Oh, okay. Well, please, tell me, what's going on here?" Dean takes one of the to go cups of coffee and takes a sip. "You're thinking Mom is gone and Aurora can't be saved...Dean, after everything we've gone through...we've lost people we love, people who have been in our lives a long time. Everything is upside down. I get it. But we've been down before. I mean, rock bottom. And we find a way. We fix it because that's what we do. And Aurora wants to do the right thing. Aurora is scared to death of who she is, and she's scared of you." I needed to tell him how it is...now I feel a little better.

There's a knock at the door again and I say, "Come in." Its Donatello again, and this time he's carrying a white plastic bag. "Morning, guys." He says. "Uh, got a minute? I, uh, want to talk about Aurora." What the hell? We just did this. I look at him confused. "We just talked about Aurora." I tell him, in case he forgot in the short time he was gone or something.

"What?" Donatello says, he looks confused now too. "You were just here." I tell him. He chuckles, "No I wasn't. I was grabbing breakfast burritos. Extra spicy." He holds up the plastic back in emphasis. Then who was I talking to? I look at Dean and we both get up to go look in Donatello's room to see if Aurora is still there.

Dean opens the door. "Aurora?" He calls out. But the room is empty. "She's gone." I say in surprise. Where could she have gone? "Okay, okay, so-so-so who's got Aurora?" I ask starting to get worried. "And who was I - or what was I talking to? A shifter?" "What would a shifter want with Aurora?" Dean is right that makes no sense.
