Author's POV
The three girls arrived at school a little early, so they decided to just stay in homeroom. Surprisingly, only Chloe was there so it was kinda awkward. "Morning girls", Chloe greeted them after marking her paper next to the bag Beca bought for her in Paris. Beca threw that over her head and sat down at her place. "We have a poetry competition this Thursday if any of you would like to join, Beca I think you'd uh like it", Chloe suggested. "Mm, I'd be perfect wouldn't I? Should I write about my broken heart or how you fucked someone else?", Beca snapped at her. "Guess I deserved that", Chloe said to herself and went back to marking her papers.
Beca and Chloe spent their class together with Beca answering every single question the redhead has to annoy her. They're all doing their work when the door opened. "Hey", Lance said before walking in. Beca lifted her head and kept her eyes glued on them. "Hey, Uhm, what's up?", Chloe asked as she noticed Beca staring at them. "Nothing, we haven't talked since.. y'know", Lance replied. "Lance, I told you, it was a one-time thing and it can't happen again", Chloe said. Beca took this time to passed her work up so she made her way to Chloe's table. "Can you check this for me?", she asked and stood there. Chloe took the paper and start shuffling through the paper. "How was your weekend, Miss Lance?", Beca asked. "Uhm, it was fine", she answered looking at Chloe. "Oh yeah, I came here to give you this-", she took out Chloe's blue necklace from out of her pocket, "-you dropped it in my car", Lance chuckled. "That's a nice necklace", Beca replied bluntly, upset that Chloe could drop something so precious. Chloe smiled and Beca made her way back to her table and buried her heads in her hands as she starts to doze off.
"Beca, wake up", the angelic voice echoed the room. Chloe nudged her shoulder slightly to wake the brunette up. "Good morning you", she chuckled softly as Beca woke up, dazed and her hair a little messy. "Oh, it's just you", Beca said. She stood up and starts making her way to the door when the redhead grabbed her hand. "Here", she placed the necklace on the center of her palm. "I don't deserve this, and the bag, so take it on your way out", Chloe explained and turned her face away. "Don't do this, take it back-", Beca placed the necklace around her neck, "-I wanna work this out Chlo, I really do, but to do that, you need to give me some space to let me heal and show me that I can trust you, okay?", she placed a small kiss on the redhead's forehead before leaving her alone in the classroom.
Beca's POV
"Hi, thank you all for coming. As you know, we have a talent night event this Saturday and you guys are chosen. So, your slots are on the board, I hope you're ready", Miss May smiled. I walked over to the piano and starts rehearsing my songs when a familiar face walked in. "Santana?!", I smiled widely as I ran to her and hugged her. "Hello to you too", she smiled. Santana's one of my oldest best friend/ex (she's a year older than me) but she had to move during middle school to New York. "What are you doing here?", I asked her. "Miss May and my dad are close friends and she let me help around for your talent night thingy, so show me what you've got so far", she smiled as she sat on the piano chair. I ran my fingers over the keys and starts playing the chords.
Alec Benjamin - Water Fountain
She told me that she loved me by the water fountain
She told me that she loved me and she didn't love him
And that was really lovely 'cause it was innocent
But now she's got a cup with something else in itI made eye contact with Chloe who's sitting across the room.
Now he's grabbing her hips, and pulling her in
Kissing her lips, and whispering in her ear
And she knows that she shouldn't listen
And that she should be with me by the water fountainI looked down and stopped playing as I saw her ran out. "So, what's the deal with the redhead?", Santana asked. "How'd you know?", I replied. "The way you guys look at each other, let me guess, she cheated?", she asked again which I just nodded to. "You can work it", Santana said. "How?", I asked. "Come on, everyone makes mistakes, don't tell me you forgot", she chuckled out. "That was different! I was young and dumb, she's older than me, shouldn't she know better?", I replied.
