Author's POV
Beca went to school as usual and the first thing she does when she arrived was meet her friends. "Look who's here! Smokey smokerson!", Emily rolled her eyes. "Guess I deserve that, look, I'm sorry I didn't tell you guys, I just had a few to release some stress", Beca let out and sat next to Emily. "Yeah, I bet cuddling and kissing Ava really helped you, huh?", Stacie said. "How'd you know?", Beca's eyes widened. "Your girlfriend saw you before she walked in the rain for what 20 minutes? Alone, at night. In the rain, Beca", she said. "Damn it! It just happened! You know how I get around Ava, for God's sake, I haven't seen her in two years!", the brunette defended herself. "I really don't care what you said, but it seems that you fucked up with Chloe, and I love you, man, I do, but I gotta g-", just before Stacie could finish, Chloe walked in with stacks of books. "Good luck", Emily whispered. "Sorry, class, I had a little bit of 'sleeping in' incident this morning", the redhead said. "Uhm, If you could just go over the topic we're going to learn today while I arrange all this ", she said shuffling through her books. Beca walked up to her and slipped her hands in her jeans, "You need some help with that?", she asked nervously. "Mm, I think I'm fine, Ms. Mitchell, I mean I survived the last two nights alone, I'm sure I can survive this", Chloe said while raising her eyebrows and let Beca walk away in defeat.
"That would be all for today, thank you, class, you guys are dismissed and don't forget to go to the hall after lunch", Chloe announced and took a seat as she said her goodbyes to the students. "You feeling better?", Stacie walked up to her. "No, I feel terrible, but, you know", she sighed. "Aubrey's coming during lunch to see you, see you", the tall brunette smiled in sympathy and left the room to Chloe and Beca. "Okay, look, I know what you saw. And before you say anything, it's my fault. I shouldn't have kissed her", Beca walked to her. "Do you really think that's why I'm so furious and mad at you?", Chloe looked at her. "Well, yeah", the brunette shrugged. "I'm angry at you because you expect me to respect our relationship and you as my girlfriend, but you don't do the same to me. You lied to me, you didn't tell me that you started smoking, and I had to found out from your ex-girlfriend who just showed up, do you know how bad that made me look? That I didn't know what the fuck happened to you but she does? And then you raised your voice at me and you didn't even go after me... you just let me go and ran after her instead. Is that how it's gonna be? If I'm gone, you'll just replace me with someone else like a minute later? I saw you with her and- I just-", she stopped and sat down as she buried her face in her hands, holding back the tears. "Baby, please, I'm sorry, I'll do anything", Beca walked next to her. "Please leave, this is inappropriate and you have class, I'll see you after lunch, Miss Mitchell", she walked to the door. "Babe", the brunette called out. "Leave my class, please", she said with her voice breaking and her eyes teary.
Its been a few days since what happened and Beca couldn't get any more stressed out. She had finals, the Masquerade and on top of all that, Chloe is still ignoring her. "Hey, your mom said you didn't come down for dinner, so I got you this", Ava walked in with a plate and a mug. "Thank you, you can just put it there, I'll eat it later", Beca said while she typed the keyboard and groaned seconds after. "You okay?", Ava sat next to her with a worried look. "Yeah, I'm just a little stressed out, you know with Chloe and then finals, the stupid masquerade I have to organize", she slammed her laptop down. "She's still ignoring you?", Ava asked. "Mhm, and not only that, she stopped sitting with me at lunch and just like stop communicating with me", Beca told her. "I'm sorry", Ava rests her head on Beca's shoulder. "It's fine, did you bring coffee?", Beca looked over at the tray on the nightstand. "Mm, yeah, here", Ava reached over and grabbed the mug before passing it to Beca. "I think I just need like a drink", she let out.
A FEW HOURS LATER
Chloe sat on her sofa with a tub of ice cream and Beca's hoodie on. No matter what she does, Chloe can't ignore the fact that she's completely in love with Beca and she thought, I made more mistakes than Beca had, yet she never gave up on me. Just before she could dial Beca's number on her phone. Emily called her. "Chloe!", she called out, slight terror in her voice. "Emily, what's up?", Chloe asked. "You need to come here, Shaw's bar like now!", she sounded scared and Chloe could hear her sobbing. "Emily, is everything okay?", Chloe hurriedly turns the TV off and grab her keys. "It's Beca! She got into a fight!", she cried out. "Stay there, okay? I'm on my way!", Chloe said and hung up before she speeds to the bar.
When she walked in she saw everyone huddled up in a corner and she saw her girlfriend, bleeding with bruises in front of a taller and larger man. "No more trash talking?", he said to Beca who couldn't even stand. "One click and it's done", Chloe looked at the guy and showed her phone with 911 dialed. "Have I seen you somewhere?", he asked. "Get away from here before I call the police and you could get in trouble", she said sternly. "I was done with her anyway", he chuckled out and walked away to the other side of the bar. "Girls, give me a hand", the redhead said and carefully lift Beca. "What happened? Where's Luke?", Chloe asked. "He's out of town and I called you because they all drank and I can't drive and even if I could, I can't drive the-", Emily started panicking and rambling, "Hey, it's okay, you guys can stay over at my place", Chloe looked at her and Ava, and as much as her heartache to see that girl, her main priority right now is Beca. "Okay, get in", Chloe said and they all got into Chloe's car. "Stacie, you're gonna stay over at my place too, if Aubrey's here, you would get it", Chloe shook her head. "Thanks, Chloe", Emily softly said. "It's no problem", she reached out and held Beca's hand next to her, "We're almost here, baby, be strong", she said when Beca groaned in pain.
Chloe laid Beca down on the couch before she took off her jacket to give the girl more air. "Emily, could you get me some water and a small cloth? They should be next to the sink", Chloe pointed at the kitchen as she watched Stacie lay down on the other sofa and doze off. "Anything I c- uh- I could do to help?", Ava stammered. "Take her shoes off", Chloe ordered and grabbed the small bucket of water, and proceeded to slowly wipe the blood off Beca's face. "Anyone wanna tell me what happened and how my girlfriend end up with bruises?", she asked while she opened the First Aid Kit. Emily smiled when she heard Chloe called Beca her girlfriend, "Uhm- the guy who did this to her said something about, Beca getting in her way or something?", Emily looked over at Ava. "Uh, he said that he was there that one time and Beca beat him up while he was talking to a girl", Ava explained. "Oh my god", Chloe looked down when the realization hit her. "What?", Emily asked. "The guy- he recognized me- he was the guy I met when I was that bar months ago, he harassed me and- and- Beca stepped in and beat him up", Chloe sighed. "You are so stupid!", Chloe hushed to unconscious Beca. She walked to the kitchen and cleaned the cloth and grabbed a cup of water for when Beca gets up. "That night, we had our first kiss", she smiled to herself and knelt next to Beca as she runs her fingers through her hair. "And it was so magical- she bought Aubrey and I drinks, and after she beat that dude up, she gave me her flannel which I still keep until now, and this hoodie, that she gave me on our second date", she added and Emily and Ava stared as she rambled on about Beca. "Uh, Chloe? I wanted to apologize if me being here and in Beca's house bother you, and about the night we kissed, it meant nothing really, and she pulled away quickly, she went out to look for you but you were long gone", Ava explained. "It's fine and you guys could stay here, this sofa turns to a bed and Beca can sleep on mine", Chloe said. The redhead smiled at both of them before Beca started sitting up and groaning in pain.
"Hey, you", Chloe smiled at the brunette. "What happened?", she asked. "You got into a fight, dumbass. Here", she passed the cup over to Beca. "You're lucky Emily was there to call me. Who knows what could've happened if she wasn't there, all three of you were drunk, look at Stacie, completely blacked out, and you, look at the bruises and there was so much blood", Chloe started going on and on while Beca rested her head on the couch. "I'd rather get beaten up than hearing this", she groaned making Chloe hit her on her hips and Emily laughed. "I saved your ass, be grateful", Chloe said. "Missed me?", Beca smiled as she let her eyes doze off and Emily sat next to her and rest her head on Beca's shoulder. "No, not at all, I was actually having a good night until I had to go and pick you up", Chloe said. Beca turned her head to the kitchen and saw the ice cream tub next to the sink and chuckled, "Nice hoodie, Red, is that mine?", Beca said. "Oh shush, my hoodies are at the laundry", Chloe defended. "Whatever you say, Miss Beale", she smiled. "Emily's asleep, awh, she looks so peaceful", Chloe whispered and stared at Emily in awe. "So, where am I sleeping?", Beca stood up softly and tucked Emily next to Ava. "You'd have to sleep with me in bed 'cause there's uh- no more space here", Chloe looked around her living room. "Oh, so not even next to Stacie there?", Beca pointed at the huge space on the sofa. "Or there?", she pointed to a different spot. "Or right there?", Beca pointed at a small couch next to the TV and Chloe rolled her eyes. "Okay, no need to gloat, you'd be dead without me", Chloe said. "Fair enough", Beca smiled and placed an arm around Chloe before both of them walked to Chloe's room and slipped under the blanket. "Beca? I'm cold", Chloe softly said. "Okay, I'll turn the heater on", Beca said. "No", Chloe protested. Beca smiled to herself before moving closer to the redhead and wrapping her arms around her before Chloe nuzzled into her neck. "I love you", she softly let out. "I love you so much", Beca replied.
