"Miss, Miss," I heard. I slowly opened my eyes to find I was on an airoplane. Airoplane. London. Oh great, it all came rushing back now. I had gotten on the wrong plane, I had just been woken up by an air hostess as we had obviously just landed, and I had numerous calls from my mum and dad. Mum and dad, FLIP! They must be really worried!
I thanked the lady and quickly grabbed my backpack and ran out of the plane. As soon as I stepped out I called my mum, and after three seconds she picked up.
"MADELINE RUTH JOHNSON WHERE ON EARTH ARE YOU? DO YOU KNOW HOW WORRIED I WAS, DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I CALLED YOU DO YOU"
"Mum," I cut her off. "I got on the wrong flight and have only just landed and am in London at what, 4:30 pm and I have no money and"
"Maddie." This time she cut me off. "It's going to be ok, you just need to pray and God will look after you. Try busking maybe to get some money, we will try and find a way to get you home, and Maddie, I love you so please stay safe."
"I lo," my phone was cut off and I realised that it was out of battery and let out a small sob before I could stop it. It was then that i realised that I was stuck in London, by myself, wihout anywhere to go and no money. Before I let the panic set in I quickly closed my eyes and prayed to God for guidance. I opened them and looked at my surroundings. Ok, i was in an airport, the London airport to be exact and the first thing I should probably do is get my luggage.
~Skipping boring airport part~
I breathed in a breath of fresh air and looked around. One word, W.O.W, London was beautiful! As I had absolutely no idea where to go I travelled along the paved streets until I saw a bus, a double decker big red bus to be exact. I looked at it in excitement, I mean, even if I was all alone in London I still couldnt have a good time right? I quickly rushed toward the bus, pulling my luggage behind me and I looked at the time; 5:00 pm. I hopped on and I sat on window seat at the bottom level and looked in awe at my surroundings. The world over here was compltely different to over in Australia, I mean, there was so many differences I can't explain.
I was so caught up in my surroundings i didnt notice when the bus driver said, "last stop, Trafalgar Square." I panicked and hopped out of the bus quickly, accidentally stubbing my toe on the way out. As I was stuck for money and my stomach was starting to grumble I decicded to take up my mum's advice and busk. I grabbed out my guitar; so glad I brought it, and started playing 'Skinny Love' by Birdy. I started singing and after about the second verse a young girl came over and put $3 in my guitar case. I thanked her and casually flipped my medium length dark blonde hair out of my blue eyes and continued playing.

By the end of the night, or 7:30 pm, I was seriously getting hungry so I checked to see how much money I had made. $48! Wow! First things first, food. I packed up my things and walked around untill I saw a McDonalds, phew, a familiar sight. I walked in and left my luggage in the corner and then walked over to the counter to see a very bored looking teenager.
"Hi, what can I get you?" was what came out of her lipstick covered mouth. I looked at the menu and then asked for a simple happy meal. She looked at me, rolled her eyes and then went to get it. While I was waiting for her to come back I noticed an elderly lady come through the door with a girl that looked my age and walk up to the counter. The girl had waist-long wavy dirty-blonde hair and bright green eyes. She also seemed very bubbly as she would't stop talking to her grandma.
Her grandma told her something and she looked over at me just long enough to stop talking and walked over. She came right up to me and said, "Hi, i'm Sasha and I couldn't help notice that you were just standing here by yourself and I wanted to see if you wanted to talk."
I was a bit overwhelmed by her bubbly personality but relaxed a bit and replied to her saying, "Hi, um i'm Maddie."
"Hi Maddie," she said, "Why are you here all by yourself, where are you from and how old are you?"
I chuckled a bit, so many question; but as she was obviously just trying to be nice I answered them. "Um well i'm seventeen years old, I'm from Australia and I accidentally hopped on the wrong plane. The rest of my family is over in Bali so I'm stuck here. By myself."
She looked at me a bit surprised before saying, "Oh i'm eighteen, born in September and do you have anywhere to stay for the night?"
"No, I dont have anywhere to go, I did a bit of busking before and got about 50 bucks but I don't know where to go," I said before looking down at my feet. I hadn't really thought about that, me not having anywhere to stay. I shuddered to think that I might have to stay in a cardboard box on the edge of the street, like a homeless person, which coincidentally, I was at the moment.
Sasha looked at me in horror when she heard me say that I didn't have anywhere to go and she quickly ran over to her grandma (I think thats who the old lady was) and whispered something to her. The lady looked over at me for a few seconds, then turned back to the girl and said something back. Immediately a ginormous grin lit up her face and she hurried back over here.
"Guess what, guess what!" she shouted, nearly bursting my eardrums.
"Umm, i dont know."
"My grandma and I, being the lovely people we are, decided that you can stay with us, at least until your parents came to get you and i think that we will have so much fun considering that we are best friends!"
Wait, hold on a second, I thought. Did she just offer me a palce to stay untill mum and dad came? Yes, yes she did. But i dont even know her, and isn't that too much to ask on her family?
Her smile slipped a bit when she saw me falter but she quickly asked, "so, Maddie, are you going to stay?"
I weighed the options over in my mind before replying, "yes please, thankyou very much Sasha, that would mean so much to me."
She grinned at me and started pulling me toward her grandma, "come on, I'll introduce you to nanna."
And this time, i didnt feel so worried, i now had somewhere to stay, so i grinned back.
