This story takes place one year after the final episode of shadowhunters. Clary and Jace got married and are about to face their biggest challenge yet. Parenting.
Clary's POV: Today is Izzy's 30th birthday. And I can't wait to see them. I wonder how they are handling the twins. I heard Aurora storming into the living room where I'm wrapping Izzy's gift. "Hey come here you little rascal" Jace yells while running into the kitchen and hoisting Aurora onto his shoulder. "I need to get you ready for Auntie Izzy's party" he says. "Na dada na" Aurora responds shaking her head. Jace ignores her and walks to her room.
I finish wrapping the gift and go to help Jace. I see him trying to put sandals on Aurora but she keeps kicking it off in his face. She is already dressed in a yellow dress with sunflowers on it and a sunflower clip in her hair.

I walk over to them and hold Aurora's foot while Jace slips it on. She starts to cry and I take her into my arms after we're done and bounce her. "It's just for a little while then you can take them off" I say to her. She calms down and I place her on the ground. She walks around but nearly falling over every time she takes a step. Me and Jace pack the diaper bag and I pick up Aurora and we begin to make our way to Izzy's.
Izzy's POV: As I'm feeding the twins I hear a knock on the door. "Simon can you get the door" I yell. I hear Simon get the door and I hear Jace and Clary's voices. All of a sudden they walk in. "Woo sorry sis I'll just leave" Jace says covering Aurora and his eyes. He walks back out the door and I finish feeding the twins. Clary takes them and I fix my shirt and stand up. Me and Clary walk back into the living room where Simon and Jace are talking. We sit and begin talking. "So how have you two been?" Clary asks. "We've been alright but parenting is hard" Simon says. "Oh trust me we know" Jace says bouncing Aurora on his knee. "And by the way Happy Birthday" Clary says. "Thank you" I say. I then hear a knock at the door and Simon goes and answers it. In walks Raphael, Alec and Magnus. Simon takes their gifts and placed them on the table while they come into the living room. We begin to talk. "So how's human life Raphael?" Simon asks. "It's great so far but I haven't really been good in the dating life" he admits scratching the back of his neck. "Oh well I can help you with that, because as you know I am quite a ladies man" Jace cockily says. "And I'm happy I'm the lady who won you over" Clary says. "Come to think of it Raphael is the only one single here" I say. "Ya we better hook you up with someone Raphael" Simon says. "That's actually not a bad idea I'll set you up on Tinder" Jace says. "Jace I swear to god if your on Tinder" Clary says strictly. "No no of course not" Jace looks away relief as she has believed him.
Our moment is interrupted by another knock on the door. I stand and walk over to answer it. I open the door to see Maia, Luke, Max, Mom and Dad. "Hi guys come on in" I say stepping out of the doorway. They walk in and I take their gifts and place them on the table.
"Well I was thinking I can make dinner now and after dinner we can open presents and eat cake since it's already 4:00pm" Simon says. "That sounds good" I say. Simon takes burgers out of the freezers and goes outside to barbecue them. I see that the twins have fallen asleep in Clary's arms so I take them both and place them in their bassinets.
We all continue to talk until Simon calls us for dinner. We all sit and begin our burgers that we customized along with the homemade fries Simon made. To be honest I'm surprised Simon can actually cook decently. After we eat we decide to open presents.
I got some clothes from Mom and Dad and Max. Clary and Jace got me a beginners cook book. Alec and Magnus got me a lot of shoes and clothes. Maia got me a tight dark red dress with a deep v-neck. Even though I might not be able to fit in it I still love it. Luke got me some clothes. Simon got me these high heels I have been begging for. And Raphael got me a beautiful necklace that looks like an angel but is made up of diamonds.

Right after I open the gift I put the necklace on. "Thank you Raphael" I thank him as I did everyone else. "No problem" he nods his head in respect. After we have cake which is a vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. Plain but good.
Me and Simon thank them for coming and wave goodbye. "Hey sis do you mind helping me set up a blind date for Raphael" Jace asks me before leaving. "Sure I'll find some one for him and we can set up a date" I say. "Ok text me when you're ready" he says and walks out of the house.
I feed the twins before putting them both to bed. Me and Simon watch my favourite movie before falling asleep. This is by far one of the greatest birthdays I've ever had.
