Two days went by in a flash and now it was my 18th birthday, and I was so nervous, everyone that was turning 18 was to head to the town square so everyone was safe when people start to summon their animals. Snapping out of my thoughts when I heard a hammer, looking over a saw a group of men fixing the old run down barn the I would clean out every morning. I continued onto the town square where I saw to other people standing there, a young girl whose name was Tabatha and the young soldier boy I ran into the other day, with a small group of older men with their spirit animals. There was a man that look to be in his late thirties with a snake gently curled around his neck, constantly tasting the air with its tongue and hissed when it caught my sent, and the older man looked over at me."Hello, my name is Jordan, are you turning eighteen today?" Jordan asked
"Yes, my name is Leonardo Viserllie, but you can call me Leo." I said lightly trying and failing to hide my nerves. Jordan smiled kindly at me showing the wrinkles lining his tank face, making his warm Aruban eyes show kindness and a calmness, which in turn made me relax more.
"Well I'm here to make sure that when you summon your animal everything will go smoothly and safely for you and your animal." He said. I thanked the man and took a seat on one of the nearby logs used for seats around a bond fire during winter season, just waiting for something to happen. After sitting on the log for about thirty minutes, before the boy from the other day came and stood in front of me with his arm out stretched.
"Hi, my name is Dylan and I'm sorry about the other day if I was being creepy." He said as I looked up at him.
"My name is Leonardo, but call my Leo and its fine about the other day" I said shaking the boys hand as he sat down next to me, I started to feel hot more hot than I should feel at this time in the morning, as more time passed I started to feel sweat dripping down my face.
"Hey Jordan, I think there's something wrong with Leo" I heard Dylan say in the background, as more minuets pass the hotter it got. Jordan was kneeling in front of me, trying to say something, but I could no longer hear anything but a ringing in my ears, and my vision went blurry. All of a sudden I could see, only one thing, it was a large, beautiful pure white bird, an Owl to specific perched in a large branch of a tree.
'My name is Kisha, and it's nice to meet you Leonardo Viserllie.'
A bright light flashed before me, I close my eyes to protect them from the light and when I opened them again I could see Dylan and Jordan checking to see if I'm okay, and not far behind them in a tree was a large, pure white Owl which I failed to notice in the vision I had the black spots that covered her feathers, looking over at Jordan and Dylan.
"Don't worry I'm fine now and look." I said pointing over to the large bird of prey sitting in a nearby tree, both turned to look at the owl.
"It's a Snowy owl, not a animal you see often," said Jordan. "What is its name?"
"Her name is Kisha." I said, she than puffed her feathers out, cawed when she heard her name.
"What was it like?" asked Tabatha in the background still staring at Kisha in wonder.
"I don't know how to explain it, it was like I was almost in pain, but then she came to me and sent it all away" I said trying to explain what it felt like as best as I could to the others. I stood up and lifted my arm, just as Kisha opened her wings and flew over landing on my arm. Kisha being gentle not to dig her claws too deep into my arm, I reaching out my other hand to gently run my fingers down her feathers her, eyes and crystal shade of blue that I have never seen before, she was perfect I think there could be no better animal for me. Jordan walked over to me and put his hand on my shoulder.
"Happy birthday Leo."
