Back to School

Moonlight's P.O.V

~2 months later~

Dang it! Dang it! Dang it!! Tomorrow is mine and Shadow's first day of school of the second semester. Not knowing a lot of things about High School, this might be a slight problem.

"Sis, calm down," Shadow said. "Calm down? Calm down?! That is literally the last thing to be right now!" I say.

"Moonlight, everything's gonna be okay," he said placing a hand on my shoulder. I sigh. "I hope you're right," I said.

"Look, we have everything. A backpack, binder, pencils, pens, a notebook, and all that stuff!" Shadow says. "I'm not worried that we won't have the exact same stuff other people have," I admit. Shadow gave me a confused face.

"Then why are you worried?" Shadow asked. "I'm worried that they'll see our red marks and call us...freaks, monsters...and all the other horrible nicknames we were given," I say. Shadow's face becomes somber. "You're not the only one who's worried," he says.

"I know, but I can't help but over think this," I say. "Everything's gonna be alright sis," he says. "Look on the bright side," he said while he put his hands on his hips. "At least we won't have to deal with Morro all the time." He had a playful smile on his face and I laughed a little.

"Hey! I'm not that bad!" a voice said. We turned around and saw Morro. "Oh, hey, Morro," Shadow said nervously. "You don't have to say anything, I heard everything," Morro said. "I'm not that bad, am I?" he asked.

"Ehhhh..." both me and Shadow say at the same time.

"So," Morro said. "I heard you two are going to school." "Yep! And I am ready to fail these classes!" I exclaim and my brothers (Yes, I do claim Morro as my brother, shut up) laugh.

There was a knock on the door and Morro quickly vanished. "Come in," Shadow said. Both mom and dad came in. "Oh, uh, hey," I say. "Are you still angry that we're sending you to school?" Mom asked.

"What? Oh no no no!" I quickly say. "I'm pretty chill with it." My mom sighed in relief. "Glad to hear," Dad says.

"Tomorrow you'll have to head to the principal's office to get your schedule's," Mom said. Me and Shadow nodded. "Got it, mom!" Shadow said.

"Alright then, kids," Dad said and he and mom left the room. Morro then re-appeared. "What I miss?" Morro asked. "Nothing much," I said.

~the next day~

The alarm clock went off and I sleepily stood up and turned it off. I yawned and sort of rubbed my eyes. I looked at the time. 6:50a.m.

Better wake up Shadow, I thought. I quickly dressed up. I had a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and put on a green hoddie. I brushed my hair and put it up in a ponytail. I left my room and went to Shadow's room.

I entered without his permission (obviously) and yelled, "WAKE UP!!!" I hear Shadow yelp a bit before falling off his bed. I laugh.

"Moonlight!" he said. "Don't scare me like that!" I playfully rolled my eyes. "Better get ready," I said. "It's 7:10a.m. and school starts at 7:50a.m., so you better get your ass moving." With that, I left the room.

Shadow's P.O.V

I get up and decide what to wear. I pick out a red shirt, with black jeans, and I choose a green sweater.

After dressing up, I brush my hair and I head to the kitchen, where I see mom, dad, grandma, and my sis.

"Hey sis," I say and sit next to her. "Hi," she replied. Mom gave us pancakes and we began to eat them.

"So, kids," Dad started. "You guys nervous for school?" I place my fork down. "Definitely," I said and swing my legs back and forth.

"I'm more nervous about the big student crowds," Moonlight said as I looked at her. "Too much people and a big chance they'll be able to see...our marks..."

I look down to my feet. "Come on, kids," Dad said. "Everything will go on just fine. I know." He gave us smiles and we smiled back. "Now, hurry up and eat, you guys don't wanna be late for school, now, do you?" Mom said as me and Moonlight starts to eat our breakfast again.

I finish first and I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth, the moment I get out, Moonlight gets in. I put on my shoes, and I head to the living room, where my backpack is at. I pick it up and as soon as I was going to walk out the house, I remember: my cap!

I go back to my room, and get my dark green cap. I put it on and I make sure the red mark isn't anywhere on sight. Once I double check, I go back downstairs, to see that Moonlight already has her cap on and is ready to go with her backpack.

"Hey, bro," she said. "Hey, let's get going," I said and she nods. We say goodbye and we walk out the house. It was sunny so it was a good excuse as to why we are wearing caps.

Rockler's P.O.V

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

I groan as I turn off my alarm clock. I stood up and yawned. I looked at my mirror. My hair is a mess! Better dress up first.

I put on a orange shirt, black jeans, and a black sweater. I then brushed my hair. I took a good look at my pink bangs, and I swear I see some blue on it. I couldn't be sure, so I just let it slide...for now.

I walk to the kitchen and look around. Mom and dad aren't here...so... I open the fridge and grab a piece of cake. I start to quickly eat it before mom and dad walk in. I finish the cake in about 10 minutes.

As I put the plate and fork in the sink, mom and dad entered the kitchen. "Hey, Rocky," Dad said. "Ready for school?" "Almost," I replied and headed to the bathroom.

I brush my teeth and walked to the living room once I was done, and grabbed my backpack. "You need a ride, Rocky?" Dad asked. I shook my head. "I'm fine walking," I said and left the house.

I finally reach school. I then accidentally bumped into two people. "Oh, uh, I'm sorry," I mumbled and hurriedly left.

I went inside the school and reached my locker. I got some things I needed, left some things I didn't need inside and then closed my locker. I sighed and as I was turning around to leave, I hear, "WATCH OUT!!!"

"Huh?" I turn around only to be greeted by someone who crashed into me. My eyes close tight as feel my back hit the floor and I groan as I made contact with the ground. I also feel some weight on me.

"Sorry!" a voice said. I opened one eye to see a boy with light brown hair with brown eyes. I opened both eyes. He looked to be around my age.

This boy was currently on top of me, and I don't know why, but, all of a sudden, the whole room went hot. "Um, w-would you mind getting o-off me?" I ask, stuttering a bit. "Oh, uh, yeah! My bad!" the boy said, nervously chuckling as he got off me.

As I stood up, I realized I was blushing, but, I don't know why. "So, uh, w-what's your name?" I ask.

"I'm Chris. Chris Turner," Chris said. "You?" "I'm Rockler. Rockler Brookstone," I said.

"Uh, friends?" Chris asked, sticking his hand out to shake. "Friends," I said, shaking his hand.

I quickly left after that, still blushing. Why am I blushing?
