War was on our mind. At first, we just wanted peace, a clean break. They leave us alone; we leave them alone. So much bad shit had happened, we just wanted to rest and be grateful we were all back together. We were thinking about pushing up the wedding for me and Andrew since he'd more than proved himself and also to invalidate Cory and mine's fake wedding.
But then we caught wind of the rumors the Darkseas were spreading about us. That I was enamored by Cory, slept with everyone in the palace, and was forced to come back by the jealous Lord Andrew. They were making it sound like me and Cory were some tragic love story and my parents and Andrew forced me to come back beyond my own will which was very untrue. And when that story didn't catch enough wind it was just that I was some massive slut that slept with every guy with a cock, even groups of guys, everyone had a go at me.
It was ridiculous and then it was humiliating because people started looking at me side eyed like, maybe it's true. Because they could no longer violate my body, they felt the need to strip me naked in front of everyone and expose my supposed sexual sins to the world, another violation of me. A character assault that would echo long after I'm dead, regardless of if the rumors were true or not. What more could these people do to me?
The wedding got postponed because we wanted to marry in a good light and with honor. And war would be the only thing to bring back honor and dignity to our family's name. We even began a journey to all of the moon lands to show the people and the kingdom my bruises and stuff and tell our own tale of what the Darkseas had done to me.
Gaining the support of our own kingdom was easy, the people of the moon would follow us to war regardless if we were right or not. We were a sizeable kingdom to pose enough of a threat to Darkseas but we didn't just want to hurt them, we wanted to destroy them and burn the village to the ground and piss in its ashes. We wanted to hit them and hard. So we needed outside support for that, and so, we planned our journey to the kingdom of the Weirwoods.
The Weirwoods was a 5 day journey, we had to travel through the Moonlands and then halfway into the Weirwoods to the center to make it into the kingdom. The palace was massive and in the center of sprawling forest drenched in fairies and all sort of magical folk, including dragons. The place was known for it. I almost married into the Weirwood family, the king had 3 sons and 3 daughters. I was open to marrying any of the sons but had my sights set on the oldest, Maximus. We were even engaged for a short period of time, but my father didn't want me to move so far from the kingdom so the engagement was set aside. I thought it was too ambitious to even try and go after the crown of Weirwood, one of the largest kingdoms on this side of the moon, anyway so never put much stock into the idea. Then Andrew came along.
Lord Andrew protested to me heading up to the Weirwoods with them. Too dangerous being his reason, but I'd been to the Weirwoods plenty of times, even as a small child with no harm brought upon me. My bruises had long but faded by now, and there was no reason for me to go other than because I didn't want to be home.
The spells they had done on me persisted and I felt strange all day long, weird pulsings in my lower areas and spontaneous mood switches. And then there were the nightmares, where I would wake up in the Darkseas for them to do what they wanted to me all over again. I didn't want to be away from the safety of my brothers. Mostly I didn't want to be away from Andrew but I wouldn't tell him that. I didn't want to be the damsel in distress that needed him to save me all the time. But there was nowhere I felt safer than by him or my brother's sides. I was afraid of being alone, but I couldn't tell him that. So I just made up excuses as to why I needed to go. But no one else had a problem with me going except for Andrew.
So I was brought along to Andrew's dismay and I could tell he was in a bad mood as we mounted our horses, one that would persist the whole trip. But I was in a good mood. I enjoyed trips, it would be a nice release from my worries. Winter was nearly over at this point, most of the snow had melted though the ground was still hard and a bit muddy in parts. The trees all bare and prickling.
