Sunday. Mayvonne and her mom went to attend Mass.

Inside the Church,  Mayvonne closed her eyes as she listened to the melodious voice of the choir. She always wanted to listen. There is where she finds peace. Ever since she was a child, she always wanted to learn piano. She was inspired to the boy he met when she was a child.

While reminiscing and enjoying the piano, she smiled. Her mom elbowed her and whisper

“What are you smiling at?” then softly chuckled.

Hahaha! Bawal na bang ngumiti mom?” she answered.

Baliw ka! You concentrate on the mass” Mrs Melendrez smiled and turned serious.

Mayvonne look at the altar again and he noticed the altar guy looking intently at her direction. She became conscious of her actions. As she looks at the guy, the guy smiled at her. She frowned as she tried to recall the face of the guy – he was familiar.

Mayvonne could not concentrate on the mass because of the presence of the altar guy. She could not explain why her heart beats fast.

The time she entered the church with her mom, he immediately saw her.

He told himself, he was excited for the school days to come so she could meet the girl who approached and returned his pendant.. He could not forget the face of the girl. The girl he wanted to meet again.

The mass started. He was surprised because the girl he wanted to meet sat the area where he could see her well. No obstruction. He smiles seeing the girl closing her eyes while he read on the lips, sang the lyrics with choir. Her hair was slightly mess cause of the wind in of the electric fan.

“She’s gorgeous” he said to himself.

He saw how her mom restrained her. He finds her cute stubbornly responding to her mom. Until the girl accidentally looked at his area, He smiled at her when their eyes met. The girl’s forehead wrinkled. He noticed how uncomfortable she was in his presence.

He swayed himself why he can't control himself from smiling,

Until the mass ended. Father Dawe approached him while he's taking out his altar outfit.

“Lawrence” – Father Dawe called him

“Yes Father?” he knew exactly what was the priest's concern with him. He’s nervous already.

“You seem distracted during the mass? My problem ba ikaw Iho? Di ka mapakali.” The priest worried asked.

This what Lawrence expected.

“I’m sorry po kanina.” On his apologetic tone,

“Lawrence, sige okay na. But this is what I want you to remember, bata ka pa para mag-girlfriend. And when you fall in love, and have a girlfriend,  try to learn to jungle your time with her and your time with your other responsibility. You know what I mean.”

“Father?..” Lawrence puzzled.

“You know what I mean Lawrence, I knew it.” Intently teasing him.

S-salamat poLawrence said in hesitant.

“Binata na talga ang alaga namin messing his hair. Lawrence smiles at the priest unsolicited advice. They really knew him.

The priest left.

He pulled out something in his pocket. The chain with attached clothed button (it looks like chain with pendant and the button imitates like a pendant). He gently rubbed the button, he then, whispered.

“Now that I have you, I will never let you go away from me..  Never again.. Mayvonne.”
