The Class ended. She and Liza went outside the school gate campus. She saw her mom’s car arrived, picking her up. She introduced Liza to her mom. Her mom offered Liza to drop her home. Liza, on the other hand gently refused because she also has her dad to pick up her.
“How’s school baby?” Her mom asked her while driving the car
“Mom.. I’m not baby anymore! Anyway, I’m okay mom. I have friends. The closest friends I have now were Lawrence and Liza.”
“Why don’t you invite them to come over to our house?” her mom trying to cheer her up.
“Next time mom.” She responded not in the mood.

They reached home. She went directly to her room. She lied down her bed as she felt her muscles tired. She remembered what happened earlier in the school.
FLASHBACK OF WHAT HAD HAPPENED EARLIER.
“Look at them; they look good together, right?” Liza told her, while they were in table, eating their snacks they bought in school cafeteria.
She looked at the portion where Lian and Lawrence where. They pictured like a cute couple made in heaven as they are teasing each other.
She felt a sudden pinch on her heart.
“Ay naku. Padeny deny ka pa kase, girl!” Liza told her, as she gently pinched Mayvonne’s face.
“Isn’t it too early to feel jealous, Liza?” She asked Liza, as she put her right hand to her face.
“Hindi naman. There is always such thing as Love at first sight. Look at Romeo and Juliet.” Liza said on her consoling voice.
“Hahaha. At ang Romeo ko, may kalandian ng iba. At hindi nya rin ako gusto!” Her mouth pouted.
“At umamin din sa wakas si Juliet.” Liza told her. And they both laugh at her crazy admission.
The class resumed. She could see from her seat how Lawrence steals glances to Lian. She could see how every after subject’s break, Lian would go to Lawrence have their intellectual chit chat. She didn’t have any chances to talk to Lawrence. She even saw Lawrence accompanied Lian on her way home.
She changed her clothes. While taking off her uniform, a piece of note dropped from her uniform’s pocket. She then remembered that she placed the note that Lawrence gave her inside her pocket. She opened the note and smiled while reading the note.

She smiled and kissed the note. But when she remembered Lian, her smile faded.
She opened her drawer and pulled out a box. The box has label “Souvenir box”. The box contained souvenirs given by people she had met. She pulled out the pair of earrings given by Santiago on her 13th birthday.
Flashback
1 year ago. San Rafael High School.
The bell rang for Recess time. Mayvonne was about to get out of the classroom, when he saw Santiago.
“Santiago.. Why are you here?”
“For you Em. Happy birthday!” Santiago was smiling. He gave him a gift. It was tiny box with ribbon. She was touched because no one in her classroom knew her birthday. But here he was, greeting and giving him a gift.
“Thank you Diddy!” They walked outside lounge and walked towards the school cafeteria.
“Pano mo nalaman ang birthday ko?” she asked him. They went to the vacant table with their foods.
“Syempre, dapat alam ko ang birthday ng mga taong special sa akin.” He pressed his hands as he looked at her. “At isa ka dun sa special na tao sa akin..”
She just looked at him. She could not hide her tickled feelings.
He continued “Special ka sa akin Em.. Special ka sa akin Mayvonne.”
It was on her birthday when Santiago confessed his feelings. He courted her until they became couple.
She put back the pair of earrings inside the souvenir box. The first note that Lawrence gave her was also inside. The next thing she pulled out was a gold necklace that her father gave her. She embraced it. She lost the pendant of it and the weird thing was she could hardly remember how she lost it. At the bottom of the souvenir box was a white handkerchief which she could not remember how she have it. It was her mom who placed it inside the box. Some things inside were medals and ribbons which were sign of her past achievements, tiny teddy bear given by her first girl best friend, her old tamaguchis, and an old beeper given by her mom on her Elementary graduation and etc.
She folded the note given by Lawrence neatly and placed it inside the souvenir box.
“I’ll be okay.. You’re special to me now. Good Night My Romeo”
She put back the souvenir box in her drawer. She lied down her bed and turned off her desk lampshade and sleep.
