It look me fifteen minutes to finally get my breathing back to its normal pace.
   In....
  Out...
It's been fifteen years since I found out I had severe anxiety, since I was ten to be exact.
Most days go by fine, but then there is days like today where it the worse it's ever been. For me when I get anxiety my heart starts racing, a weird feeling occurs in my head and I feel like I can't breathe; it's annoying to have to deal with because I constantly always second guess myself at everything and I always over think, which most of the time puts me in terrible situations.
I was sat on the edge of my double bed, my hand clenching tightly onto the blue comforter; causing them to turn red and white. My eyes were shut tight as I felt my chest begin to calm down it's pace. Truthfully I have no idea what caused the attack to happen, one minute I was about to get ready and the next thing i know I can hardly breathe and tears are running down my face. When I have an attack like this I call it the red attack, because sometimes it can get to the point that I need to call the paramedics; Thankfully this time isn't one of those times.
I sighed as I felt somewhat normal again and could finally breathe right. I reached for my phone that laid on the middle of my bed and checked the time; 8:41pm. After what felt like hours but was only a few minutes I decided to go for a walk, so I pushed myself off my bed with what little strength I had and made my way to my walk in closet. Ten minutes after deciding I finally picked out a dark blue fitted hoodie and just kept the leggings I had on. I grabbed my running shoes, put them on and then grabbed my phone, as well as my ear buds. Once I had what I needed I made my way to the front door, walked out and of course made sure to lock it before I left.
Two years ago I moved from the United States to here in Australia, it has been absolutely incredible! Right now it was becoming summer so it was warm but at this time of the night it was pretty chilly. This place is beautiful you could see the sun setting from my street as the dark sky began to approach casting its dark shadow. It was a very quiet evening here in Sydney, not many people are out walking tonight thankfully.
Eventually I made it to the beach; after a twenty minute walk. It was gorgeous. I made my way down towards the shore line, finding a spot away from anyone that was around and sat down once I did find one. The slight breeze in the air blew past every few moments, as small waves made their way up the beach just meters from me. Anytime that I get anxious or have an attack I always come here, it's so calming and just helps me forget everything about it. Sometimes it gets so stressful and not really have anyone around that's close is one of the hardest parts.
"Hi.." a deep voice spoke scaring me from my thoughts.
"Aghh!" I jumped, my hand immediately flying over my beating chest. I looked up behind me and came dace to face with the most gorgeous green eyes I've ever seen.
"Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you, I just seen you were all alone and though you would like some company?.." the strange boy said.
I laughed trying to brush off the embarrassment, "hey, oh it's fine. I was the one lost in thought anyway, but to answer your question I think I would like some company" I spoke nervously, as he sat down I tried to get a good look at him. He was incredibly good looking for sure, his hair was brownish/blonde with hints of red through out and he was definitely on the taller side.
"My names Ashton by the way" he smiled at me, as he stuck his hand out for me to shake.
"Nice to meet you Ashton, mines y/n" I smiled back as I shook his hand.
" so what bring you to down to the beach this late at night?" Ashton questioned as he looked out at the water.
I let out a small sigh, "honestly?" He shook his head "well.. I just have a lot on my mind truthfully. What about you? What brings you down to the beach this late?" I questioned back, looking out at the stars that have appeared in the sky.
"I'm here for the same reason as you actually. I had a lot on my mind and just needed to relax, this is one of my favourite spots." He answered with a small smile forming on his face.
"Really? I come here often and have never seen you before.." I confusedly asked.
He looked towards me before speaking nervously, "truthfully I've seen you down here before, but I usually go somewhere else and I just never wanted to bother you either."
"Oh well thank you but honestly I wouldn't have minded if you did have.." I spoke shyly feeling a faint blush began to creep upon my checks, thankfully the sun had set so you can't see it.
I saw Ashton smirk out of the corner of my eye "well then I wish i knew that, I would have introduced myself sooner" he said winking, causing me to blush. "Uhmm.." I looked at him questioningly as he scratched the back of his neck, "would you like to go to Cali's cafe with me?" He asked nervously.
His question took me completely off guard, as I felt checks heat up even more if that was even possible, "uhh that's actually one of my favourite spots... sure I would love to" I said trying to hide the crimson on my checks.
"Lovely well come on then!" He exclaimed before taking my hand in his and hauling me up off the cool sand. We then began making our way to the little spot about five minutes away, where we spent the rest of the evening (well until the cafe closed for the night) just chatting and really getting to know each other.
