5. Peabrains

After talking to Marlee I felt like a burden was lifted off of me.
I slept like it was my life.

It's the next morning and I feel rejuvenated.

So as I'm walking to my locker I see Haya waiting for me. 'Hey, where's your boyfriend?' Oh god what is wrong with me.

"Can we not do that, I know how uncomfortable you must've been yesterday."
I don't say anything, I just stare at the ground.

"Hey, I know it's awkward and weird between us. I'm still here & Theo is still here. You can talk to him like you usually do, don't mind this thing."
"Haya, how can I not. You like each other and probably wanna be alone sometimes. What if you're going somewhere and you feel bad for me and invite me too just to make the whole thing awkward , I dunno." I blurt.
"Well, thank you for actually speaking. And it won't be like that, at all."
"How can you be sure?"
"It's you, Theo and I would both prioritise you before we hang out."
"That's the thing, it should be you before me. Your relationship is new, don't you wanna go out with him."
"Please I don't want to fight right now. We have to get to class."
"Yeah, let's go"

This was not good, I wasn't expecting to talk to Haya like this.

It's lunch.
I wait for Haya and Theo outside class.
"Let's get going I'm hungry. And Haya can I talk to you."
"Just before you say anything I get it, ok, I totally get what you're saying but that doesn't mean you cut us off."
"Of course not, I just wanted say I'm sorry, it'll take some time for me to adjust to..... this."

"Yo, peabrains wanna eat lunch or not."Says Theo.
"Let's go ." I say as I lock my arms in theirs and we're laughing.

We get to the cafeteria and we see everyone talking to this new guy.
He's tall.
And I'd recognise that hair anywhere.

He turns back and I my arms drop.
